The Attitude and the Teamwork

I got level 30 yesterday 25/05/2017. I am not a good player, but i do my best. The main reason i love this game, is because of teamwork. I opened a ranked game and i wasn't good enough on it, so i was getting killed. My teammates started insulting at me, by calling me ''retarded'', ''autistic'' and by giving me report threats. I wasn't mad that we were losing, because its just a game, but their attitude really made me leave the game and perhaps not play ranked again, because, its nothing about teamwork, but its all about that bloody rank. I'd love if you could give me some advice on what i should do about this issue.

Three pieces of advice!

First, if you're finding ranked too toxic and just love the game and the teamplay, sticking with normals is fine -- the ranked border and the bragging rights are great, but frankly it often CAN be frustrating how much people value winning over simply playing the game.

The other ideas are muting everyone preemptively (which I prefer to avoid whenever possible, since then you can't talk to your team), or, my preferred method, focus on building the best team environment by being friendly, supportive, asking their thoughts, congratulation good players, etc. In my experience this can actually make even a losing game into a more fun experience for everyone -- you'll still get those toxic players occasionally, but THOSE you can just mute, and you should also find a lot more friendly players who normally don't talk, since they aren't sure they'll have anyone to talk TO in a friendly fashion.

This happens to everybody, Internet is a cruel place and we'll all have to live with that. There are 3 things you can do ... either match up with friends who are the same elo as you. Don't give a fuck about the toxic people and keep on going! Write /mute all in chat if you notice your team contains toxic people. Trust me, you will meet good people, eventually ... RIOT has the absolute worst fanbase. Look no further than the comments on some of these threads. The community is 90 percent toxic people who rage and flame over every little thing that happens. RIOT has been unable to fix this for the last 3 years and I assume it only get worse. Try your best to play without looking at any chat or typing anything. That's the best bet for it.

Rank just isn't worth it since the community has devolved into such a disgusting cycle of hostility. Unfortunately there's still some of that in normals & even bot games, so brace yourself.
