Toxic Players

I should not have to be punished for not wanting to continue to play a game with someone who is being abusive and toxic to the team. i've gotten so mad that i quit several matches due to a toxic player on my team stabbing at me for no reason. (got a leaver buster) i shouldn't get punished for protecting my health seeing as how i suffer from severe anxiety and stress!! ya it sucks when a person leaves the game, but LOL should find a way to allow players to abandon toxic games that are a danger to their emotional and mental health. this is absurd and starting to anger me on a pretty bad level... the amount of toxic players is growing and its due to other toxic players. i've turned into a toxic player having a toxic player be toxic towards me. its a never ending cycle that will eventually destroy all the fun i used to have playing league. this is a virus plaguing your servers and you need to attend to this problem asap! and ive noticed most of the toxicity comes from players of higher ranks... maybe fixing the fact that gold, diamond, AND platinum players are in the same games as bronze and silver ranks, might solve the problem, or at least the severity of it. and maybe give me a small chance of actually getting out of bronze cuz i keep going against higher ranks and getting my butt kicked lol :P if you could look into this problem i'd greatly appreciate it. Please leave some comments and let me know if you feel the same way about the League Servers!

Muting them solves the immediate problem the vast majority of the time. By quitting you might be sparing yourself some grief but you are making it far worse on everyone else in the match; having a toxic player that can be muted is one thing, but having a rage quitter making you 4v5 is worse.

As for being in uneven matchups, the beginning of the season isn't really the best time to play. The ranks are compressed because you can't place higher than Plat (so all Diamonds-Challenger are much lower than they were before, pushing everybody else even further down), and you are placed based on your MMR not your rank. Just focus on improving your gameplay and ignore the toxic people.

You probably shouldn't be playing any competitive online games.

My advice is to say "muted and reported. I can't stand players who make this game toxic. you have a 100% promise that I will report you" and then actually mute them. This solves the problem mostly; they might have tilted you a bit, but it usually won't feel horrible if you stop it right away. Plus they then know that you are gonna get them punished, which is satisfying for u. If you really need to get rid of some more excess emotion pm your friends telling them about how much liquid cancer that toxic player on your team is. That way you get relief, it doesn't tilt your team by contributing to the toxicity in team chat, you don't ruin the game for your team, and you don't get punished for saying toxic stuff back to them. Just try it, it really does work for me. I had a game where I was losing badly to the enemy op Illaoi and was tilted, then our thresh said report Sion (ie lets make a false report saying hes feeding intentionally just so we can take revenge on him for having a bad game vs an op champ) I was downright pissedoff and seriously needed to vent somehow, otherwise I would have afkd or said some EXTREMELY toxic stuff back to him. Instead I just said report thresh for what he was doing and vented to my friends; so it saved me and my team from lots of grief.

personally, as someone that had a rather... depressive period last year, take it from me.

/mute all the moment someone starts annoying you in these situations.

To your actual post, no you should not be punished for not wanting to continue to play a game with an abusive or toxic player.

The community should have been cleaned up by now - Riots failure There should be a much earlier surrender option, instead of being trapped in game with these people for 20 minutes - Riots failure

Honestly, I think trolls are a MUCH bigger problem, as there is no solution (no mute button)

and no detection for trolls at all. (Happy to hear otherwise, presuming you have some evidence)
