Suggestions for Unfair Matchmaking with Griefers

Picture this: you are bot lane, it's early game, both bot lanes are 0/0/0, but you're enjoying a 20 cs lead. Meanwhile, your jungler, mid laner, and the enemy mid laner have been bickering in all chat since the game started. Your mid laner dies to first blood at level 5 and rage quits to spite jungler, who is extra tilted now, and starts to run it down. The next thing you know, you're losing 1 - 14 and the jungler is holding your team hostage instead of forfeiting, and 20 minutes can't come fast enough. Happens entirely too often lately, and the general response from Riot is "Meh, griefers suck." I think I'm one of the few people who plays to learn, rather than win, but ranked queues are still nearly unplayable for me.

This is like someone hitting your car, and Riot is the insurance company who refuses to fix your car, even though there are multiple witnesses who can prove it was the other driver, or griefer. So you're stuck with a car that barely runs, you have to alter your plans/destination, and pay hundreds of dollars to get your car back in good running condition. The insurance company (Riot) says "Hey, that sucks. Sorry about your car. But, hey, don't worry, we suspended that guy's license, and he won't be driving for a couple of weeks." Pretty unfair, by any measure. Why am I being punished for someone else's malice?

So I have a few ideas to help mitigate this (not to take away from FanyPant's earlier post):

  1. Refund the LP to the players directly impacted, including demotions, if applicable. Players who duo with said griefer would not get LP forgiveness, as they are guilty by association. You already have the benefit of a duo partner in solo queue, so it's only fair.

  2. More serious punishments. I realize most of these are just an algorithm of Player A gets X number of reports in Y amount of games. Please read the comments in the report. Please read the chat logs.

  3. Do not allow first time champs to be played in ranked. Yeah, yeah, multiple accounts for some of you, I know. I haven't thought of a good work around for that, except maybe some way to list all of your accounts in your Riot Games account, or just run through a couple bots/normals before ranked.

  4. Stop putting players I just reported on my team the very next game. Seriously, I'll wait the extra 30 seconds. I don't mind.

I realize these are a long way from a viable solution, but it's a start, and it's a discussion that needs to take place. Like, now. Matchmaking needs to be a priority. Are you listening, Riot?

Kind of lost me at guilty by association. So why don't we expand on that idea and make the whole team guilty by being on the same team? That seems about as fair as guilty by association. And I assume you mean LP, not RP (totally different thing).

More serious punishments. I realize most of these are just an algorithm of Player A gets X number of reports in Y amount of games. Please read the comments in the report. Please read the chat logs.

Game play offense get 14-day ban on first punishment and perma-ban on 2nd punishment. How much more serious? Your realization of the algorithm is wrong. I'm sure someone will come by to correct you shortly. And who is paying for the thousands upon thousands of employees needed to read the comments and chat logs of every reports for a player base of millions?

Personally, not something I would be against, but also not something Rito will ever change.

Start right now!!! Do as you said, wait the extra 30 seconds before queue up again after you reported someone. Why do you need Rito to make you wait 30 seconds? You can do it and wait the 30 seconds yourself to save yourself the trouble.
