Improving the community.

Hello, fellow league of legends players. I have been playing this game for 3 years and have experienced a large amount of the toxicity that this game entails. During these 3 years of playing, I've had my handful of chat restrictions, suspensions and even perma bans. As much as I have tried to improve my behaviour, it is extremely difficult to do so in a community as toxic as this. As much as one, one being myself or others, may have good intentions outside of game, it is extremely easy to resort to old toxic habits due to the behaviour of other players in game (or just the snowbally nature of the game itself). For players that identify themselves at risk of being toxic in game, I believe that the option to mute yourself outside of game for "x" amount of games would be a great feature in league. As opposed to going through the strict tribunal system and thus already ruining people's games through toxic behaviour, we can have a feature to avoid the toxicity of some league players all together. I understand that this would take out some of the "teamwork" aspect of the game but it is still very possible to communicate through pings. Ultimately, both riot employees and league of legends players want a less toxic community, and adding the ability to mute one's self outside of game will only help to accomplish that. I desperately urge riot to add this feature for the large part of the community that wishes to play this game for fun. Heimerdinger Thank You

I wonder if it needs to be a 'self mute for X games' or more of a game by game option, perhaps in champ select or alongside the in game mute options.

Otherwise, 1000 times yes. People who want to keep playing but are self aware enough to realise they have an issue and actually want to do something about it should be given that chance. Having this option might also help those rare and frankly surprising cases where people think that by muting someone they can't see what you say either.
