the problem is, normals run on a different MMR calculator than ranked so people who don't play normals often will have a lower MMR even if they are winning. Or people who play primarily in normals could have a high normals mmr even if they are low rank in ranked mode. Really you just got to play more normals to balance out your MMR, you'll still sometimes get that higher ranked player in a game that doesn't belong because their normals mmr doesn't match their rank, but there is no way to fairly fix that situation since it would also likely prevent people from playing with friends of all ranks.
