Instead of Only Punishment, Why not Reward?

Yes, I know, there is a rewards program to give you a fancy little banner around your loading screen. However, it's not used. The only time I see them is when I play with friends who I know only play with other friends, so they reward each other all the time and thus get fake banners.

You created that ranking system, with the S, A, B, ... performance metrics. Why not utilize that along with honor reports to give people something that's more valuable? Potentially an IP bonus or a few Riot Points? I am sure there are other ideas to actually reward people in a meaningful way, share them!

Ultimately, if you want to create a positive community, foster positivity. Only punishing negativity isn't entirely useful. Haven't you heard of the compliment sandwich approach?

I'd love to get rewarded for just being a polite human being... unfortunately that's an expectation of society, not something we typically get rewarded for...

In the past they have given us Icons, Borders, and random skins for being well behaved. So... Riot already does this.

This could work, but will likely not be implemented because of marketing. If they WERE to do something like this, it could possibly, be... well, I don't know, honor of all 4 types, in one game?

My friends and I did the same. We lost our banners quickly, because Honor from the same people who've been honoring you doesn't have the same weight towards getting/maintaining a banner.

They're working on that. It'll be part of the new Tribunal. In the meantime, they've been issuing rewards to positive players semi-randomly this year, starting with a free skin during last preseason.

Oh gosh, I wonder how many people would start complaining, "I'm friendly and polite and I've been playing for three years and never flamed a single person, why don't I get rewards?" Interesting idea though. Personally, seeing how many +1 points I get after a game is pretty rewarding!
