Pretty sure you are too lazy to read it all, but whatever...

I don't agree with the current standing on the punishment system. A few well deserved curse words gets punishment, while intentionally ruining other people's games and therefore wasting their time is approved... yay... I am 100% sure that getting a single chat log with a few end-game stats is NOT enough to judge a game. Hells, even the short message the reporter can include is pretty useless, because:

  1. You just play with 2-3 friends and give a 3-4 report to a guy and include some lies and laugh while he suffers...
  2. It is limited so much you can't really give details because you run out of characters halfway through...

I've got a chat restriction today, I've had a few in the past years, I'm playing since open beta, I've seen this community go (and even turn me) toxic from quite the beginning... I don't care... restrict my chat, hell... restrict it forever, don't even give me the limited version I currently have, completely turn my chat off... I simply don't give a rat's ***... Team rarely cares anyways and Sheldon Cooper is a master of sarcasm detecion compared to these 10 year old trolls and they get offended for everything anyways...

(On a side note, I've had a sudden enlightenment and at the same time lost my last piece of faith in this community a year or two ago when you've asked people to talk in front of their cameras and upload the video about their very first league experience and over about 80% of them were underaged, explains a lot, even though I'm pretty sure they should not be allowed to play this game at all)

However I've just noticed I've got the loot stuff disabled which is just unacceptable...

Do you know why I've got the punishment?

I've got trolled real hard. Like "MacLaren's Pro Player Anivia Pro Guide Pro" kind of trolling... Your system can't defend from that, I'm pretty sure he got his ban because of the YouTube video... I get punished because your report system is useless and unfair. If I have ever seen the fruits of my reports perhaps I wouldn't feel the need to send these troll kids to the nine hells over chat, because I would know that they would get what they deserved, but now I'm 99% sure they are out there without a single warning and continuing what they did to me. You seem to be satisfied with over half of the matches being ruined, all you care about is chat... really? I have a friend who has never got punished by you and I'm pretty sure he rarely gets a single report and even he agrees that over half (3 out of 4 rather) of the games are ruined by trolls... Oh, perhaps (PERHAPS!!!!) if someone has 0/20/0 you punish for intentional feeding, but I doubt even that, unless the player has majority of his games like that... PERHAPS... Oh yeah you've got an afk detector that might be useful, since I only have a leaver/afker every 5th game even though I have perhaps only once or twice left the game intentionally over 6 years... My ISP cares about his reputation as much as you, therefore I get a lag spike 2-3 times a day or so and that less than 1 second of loss of service (ping -t google.com is running all the time so I know how long it is) is enough for your useless client to go batshit crazy and the reconnect button is just there to troll me so I have to ALT+F4 and restart it all.. That's the only reason I leave the game and I'm back in 2 minutes, yet I see so many leavers as if I was intentionally matchmade with them.. Your system is a joke.

But I'm not here to talk about leavers, I'm here to talk about trolls:

I'm 100% sure that as a jungler I could just give first blood and 1 or 2 more kills over the course of the game to the enemy top laner and make it look like an accident, then ignore top lane forever (or only go there when our top laner is back at base or dead and just take farm and perhaps die again), yet I would not get a single punishment for it. I'm 100% sure of this.

I've got the punishment for 2 games in which this happened to me as a top laner. What should I report them for? Intentional feeding? Whoever handles this garbage system just looks at the end-game stat and says: "Oh well he has 4/5/4 that ain't feeding" Yeah, unless 3 of those deaths happen in the first 3 minutes to top lane and then top lane has to handle that **** for the rest of laning phase..

So I've decided to take matters in my own hands and I'm glad you are giving me a very useless piece of chat log with the notice of the punishment, because now I can quote myself even though it is so useless it doesn't include other players' chat and kills that happened meanwhile...

I've said "well gg" after I've sent their Darius running with 20% HP in front of MY turret and Nida happened to get greedy / intentional feeder and ended up under Darius' turret and died, giving him first blood. Toxic right? Then after quite a while (about 2 minion waves and a very costly trade or two later) I've said "he got fed now". Oh no I'm so toxic it hurts... Then after another 2 minion waves and a trade later I said "as if being darius wasn't enough". Oh someone ban me already for being so toxic..

So in the first 3 or 4 minutes of the game here I am being 100% sure that if our jungler won't come and try to fix things, it's pretty much over for me, since I can only sit under turret and hope to get 2 cs / wave while he gets it all.. I am forced into at least 16 minutes of suffering (and we all know it's untrue, because trolls keep voting no on surrender even if the enemy team is 10/0 in the first 5 minutes) for another 20 mins so I am forced into 16-36 minutes of suffering because you have the leave buster in place that might not even work but I'm not willing to test it. I should suffer for 16-36 minutes in OVER HALF MY GAMES because your system is useless? NO THANK YOU! If he doesn't respond for the above I will start giving pressure, to make sure that he won't enjoy the game either and I refuse to see myself as the villain for this. If you are willing to be victims, then you are welcome to it, but I am NOT going to be the victim. So I've said "and you don't even babysit" yet still no answer or gank or anything... just came for blue and frog and left.. After like 5-6 minion waves and 2 recalls and my very first death later I've said my very first offensive word that only offends kids and intentional victims like you. A real man doesn't get offended by "fuck you". So I've said "fuck you nida" as she deserved, the LEAST she deserved and somewhere around here our adc said "muted" to annoy me. I write 5 lines in who knows how many minutes and he feels the need to interfere with our business? Really? Then I've just lost it and I have to add I've lost it RIGHTFULLY! I've explained to that liar of an adc (who didn't even mute me as it turned out) what happened, because map awareness is too mainstream and I'm pretty sure if the tables were turned he would've spammed 3 times as much and wouldn't have included only a single "fuck you"... After seeing that my team not only ignores the troll, even decides to harass me over chat I've left my lane. What should I do? As I've said 16-36 minutes of SUFFERING while the enemy spams Ctrl+4? No thank you I'm not that stupid, I left my lane and even announced it so if someone remotely cares for the game, they can take my lane over while I try to get rid of my underfed state in the jungle. Did my not-toxic-at-all teammates do that? Nope, united against me and I ended up having 4 reports (and who knows how many they have begged of the enemy) and 15 mins later I'm punished by whatever you have in case of tribunal. (Another side note: I would permaban whoever begs the enemy team to report XY... especially if they include a reason, because those reasons are usually untrue)

The punishment included a second chat log that I (THANK GOD) barely remember, I only remember that there was a Vayne jungler in our team that constantly saved enemies with condemn. Really? You endorse doing this? Should I play a vayne jungler that saves enemies from teammates and gives free first blood to top lane? Really? That's good, while sending these trolls to hell RIGHTFULLY is bad? REALLY?! As I've said your system is pretty much useless against this kind of trolling because it WON'T. EVER. BE. PROVEN. based on a very short message I can write and the very limited amount of options and end-game stats.

I remember the old tribunal system, it was a joke. Most of the time I had no clue if I should vote punish/forgive and just skipped because the informations put in front of me weren't enough, it's jut plain end-game stats, can't prove what happened in the first 5 minutes. I can just troll for 10 mins then in the last 10 mins get a kill or two and appear as an average player... roflmao I even remember the remaining cases I didn't skip were usually "guilty af" kind of players like the "people" that beg for reports... And once, just ONCE I've voted forgive because I've noticed the pattern that usually happens to me, with premades/idiots uniting against a player that got trolled in the first place and that player is losing it... so I've voted forgive ONCE and my 100% rating got ruined, because in the tribunal everyone just spammed punish so they get free influence points for voting with the majority... disgusting...

Rito I am challenging you here and now: I'm going to play games like this Nida jungler and Vayne jungler and I don't know who or what handles punishments, but if it is a script then watch and learn how I will get past it without getting punished and if it's a team of humans with rather limited abilites then I dare you to split them to half, one half not knowing about this post and the other half knowing about it and ask them if I am to be punished or not. I'm pretty sure the half that has no clue about this post and the fact that I'm going to do this intentionally will NOT want to punish me, "He is just a noob after all, everyone has to start somewhere", while the other half does.

YOUR SYSTEM IS USELESS AND MORE OFTEN THAN NOT MAKES INNOCENT PEOPLE SUFFER! I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THAT DEFENDING MYSELF FROM TROLLS AND REMINDING THEM OF THEIR PLACE MAKES ME GUILTY! FIX YOUR SHIT! (In the unlikely event that you really care, I have a few ideas how to fix it btw) I'm off to copying these trolls... and laugh my ass off when my punishment is lifted for "good behavior" unless you ban me for this post idk... bb

So many errors and misconceptions. To list a few:

  1. No such thing as "well deserved curse words". Don't be an asshole and you won't be punished.
  2. Mass reporting does nothing special. A report flags the player for review and nothing else.
  3. Hextech loot is a privilege, not a right. If you're not going to play by the rules you certainly shouldn't be getting extra stuff for free.
  4. If someone is trolling it is your responsibility to keep your shit together.
  5. Just because you don't see the results of your reports doesn't mean that they aren't getting punished.
  6. Trolling and being bad are two entirely separate things.
  7. Trolling is much harder to confirm than AFKs and verbal toxicity.
  8. You only see your chat logs because what they did doesn't matter. See #1 and #4.

But go ahead and troll all you want. See you soon with your next punishment.

If anything, the system seems to be working quite well, has been a good while since I've had a legitimate troll in my games.

  1. There is such thing as "well deserved curse words". Did you even read what I've written? It's a situation where I have nothing at my disposal except chat, what can I do? I am 100% sure that reports are being useless. I've seen players brag about "ban doesn't exist", I know trolls personally, hells, even I have had a series of epic trolling that would've deserved a ban and it simply did not come. I've done that intentionally in a similar scenario as this. I'm doing it right now, I WILL. NOT. GET. BANNED. I've tried it, now I'm trying it while even informing Rito about it. They simply don't give a flying fuck...

I have played countless games where I've kept my shit together, yet there are TWO games in which I've lost it RIGHTFULLY and I'm getting punished for that, legit..

  6. Yes, it is impossible that the trolls I am talking about are bad. I have seen plenty of people being bad and most of the time don't care. This was not being bad, this was intentional. You don't just simply run a mile to die under a turret on level 30 especially with my MMR.

You apparently won't see me with my punishment that's why I started this post. I've tried already, it's useless.. All I have to do is keep off chat or perhaps even say "sry" or just explain my past actions with some fake bullshit reasons and whoever gets to see at my "intentional feeding" case will just see an honest noob and move on... Wow someone actually cares what I've said and asked my opinion, didn't expect that to happen... I think the report should record the following: It should record the location and stats of players at all times and the judges should have a scrollbar that represents time and so they could judge the chat log, stats and positioning accordingly instead of just seeing some timestamps in chat and see the end-game stat results. If Rito doesn't intend to waste resources on storing all this data then perhaps record stats and location on every kill or every 15 seconds or whatever. If Rito doesn't intend to waste even that much resources on storing this data then perhaps include another kind of report system (having two different kind of report system in place simultaneously) in which a player that actually cares can upload the whole match on YouTube or a similar site and the judges would see what the player experienced. This would require reports to be able to written from match history or what we are all waiting for for OVER SIX DAMNED YEARS would be an INCLUDED replay system and a player could just submit a replay file... Jeez are these so epic ideas only I've thought about them? HARDLY! They just don't give a damn about us... I could think of a few more ideas, but I'm not wasting my time here until Rito asks me which won't happen because they don't care... fact...

Learn to read please, I've waited quite a damn long time for the jungler to fix the shit he caused. He didn't. He never ever visited my lane again. Hell it took me quite a while to die for the first time, I said that. I held my lane for a long time and recalled at least twice to heal instead of just feeding him myself... Even after that I didn't spam surrender vote, I just left my lane as every sane person would do and try to get some farm from jungle where I'm not bullied constantly. This is where the team decided to harass me beyond reason. They could've offered a lane swap, or they could've ganked, but no, harassing and reporting is easier. You just underline my problem here, people without comprehension and the will to understand, they just draw a conclusion without thinking... gg..

Oh wait I've got a single email over 6 years that one of the trolls got banned, wow... Rito doing his work, right? As long as they feel they can do anything without punishment the only thing that can make them feel bad about their actions is people like me who do their parents' job for them... and getting punished by lazy idiots who can't do shit about it so they just zero in on people using curse words and going afk... yay... There is a reason people go afk and use curse words! WAKE UP! I don't do it for fun! I do it to underline the severity of the issue. Dumb people don't react to nice words and especially not to reason. I've tried reasoning for too long, they usually just repeat what they've previously said or just trashtalk about me or my mother or whoever they feel like because that's how you immediately win and argument that you've just lost.. or at least in their book... and that's why I do the same, to send the message that I will not put up with their bs...

You are the reason the community is bad. You're the kind of player that if things dont go their way in lane, they give up and only care about surrendering and flaming others in chat for misplays. First blood does not mean your lane is lost, even if the enemy top is 3/0, the lane isn't lost. If you can only farm 2 creeps from a wave under your tower then you need practice.

Then you'll get to know whether the system is working or not.

That being said, the visibility for the people providing the reports can be greatly improved. Tribunal 2.0 is on the way, probably after the new client is upadted. It compliments and builds on the current system, hopefully by then we can have some better visibility.

So far, every time Ive climbed to B1 with around 80LP, I get trolled (hard) straight back down to B2 and sometimes even B3. Its not always just people trying to score touchdowns or 2v5ing, either. I know what you mean about junglers feeding lanes and never ganking. I had a Wukong JG that was mad at the ADC for taking his large Krug while leashing, so he went to botlane and took a wave of farm, went back about 5 minutes later and fed a kill, and then never went botlane again. Mostly I see low-key feeding and trolling, IE building the wrong items, ignoring positive and constructive communication, fucking Teemo supports and banning pick intents. Usually, every 4 or 5 games, I see a lot of obvious, 1v5, 4/24 at 15 minutes teams, also. Ive even played with people that have trolled my games and then streamed videos of my reactions online without my knowledge. The fools whipped out their recording software and made a fucking evening of it. I got messages, game invites, and friend invites from people that saw video lololol.

Youre right, this is happening because system works for the trolls by not just LETTING them ruin games for people, but also, after they have successfully trolled and pissed someone off by ruining a game, allowing them them to "report" people for saying "naughty words" and "hurtful things". Think about it.. these are fucking idiots, antagonizing total strangers online trying to get a reaction, and then they even get the pleasure of tattling on their victims. But if Riot punished the trolls, esp the underage ones, they would lose too much fanbase. Really think about it. The champs are cartoony.. They are catering to the trolls and the tattletales with the "reporting system".. just like they are catering to the less skilled players by making OP champs.. Even this thread is getting lurked by trolls. Its been downvoted by people that want to shoot down a random guys thoughts on the very real problem of trolling ingame. Those people literally spent time scouring the boards for a post about anti-trolling so they could debate with you about it like unreasonable and irrational douchebags.

Itd be nice if Rito could monitor low-key trolling and feeding, but it never will. Too many people who only play the game to get carried (and feed like assholes when they dont) and to just fuck up someone elses day would lose interest. What I think would be a lot more appropriate is to just get rid of the reporting system entirely. If someone is allowed to intentionally feed and afk during my goddamn promos, then I should be allowed to tell them that they are a waste of precious non-renewable resources, just a fucking carbon footprint we really dont need, and the entire world would be better off if they didnt exist. Even if they arnt "intentionally feeding and trolling" and they just SUCK, if they are allowed to fuck up MY game because they are FLAWED and made MASSIVE mistakes, why shouldnt I be allowed to simply let them know how I feel about them? They can just mute me! And I cant stop them from forcing me to play a losing game! It seems more than fair. Of course the teenie weenies whos parents wont let them play games with naughty words or violence would probably have to find a new "safe place" to rain all over someones parade, so Rito will never do that, either.

If you dont wanna stop playing, the next best thing you can do is to look for competent players in games, friend them, and que with them as much as you can.

People who troll via gameplay are in fact punished. A recent example of such can be found here. They may not be as vocal about their punishments as those that are banned for verbal toxicity are but they are indeed punished. Regardless though you are judged for your actions and your actions alone. Someone else behaving poorly doesn't excuse your own poor behavior. You can defend yourself so long as it's done in a neutral or positive manner, but the moment that you start harassing them back is when it's no longer you defending yourself, it's just you being a jerk. From Understanding the Tribunal:

4) That player in my game was far worse than me. Why am I banned??? a) I'll keep this one simple: retaliation isn't OK. Reacting to a toxic player by being toxic just incites that player to be even worse--it also ruins the game for up to 8 other players. It is far, far worse to watch two people yelling at each other all game than it is to watch 1 player ranting into blank space. Almost everyone in the game can find someone out there that behaves worse than they do--but so what? Finding someone worse doesn't justify your behavior or justify retaliation. We expect more out of our players. What players often don't realize is... those other players in your game that you thought were worse? Nearly 100% of the time, those players were banned even before you were. If someone is being toxic, just report them and move on. If you retaliate, both of you will be banned. It's really that simple.
