Riot Court of Appeals

Many trash bronzies say that they deserve plat but don't. However, some of them actually do. Some of us summoners are wronged by a streak of shit teams and drop a couple divisions as a result. With a match history, chat logs, and decent to above-average scores, someone should be allowed to make a plea to some rioter in a new Judge position to say "Hey, my rank was stolen from me, can I have it back once I show you that my mechanics haven't sunk to this level? Oh yeah, and here's the 5 afk's in the past 7 games I had too. Oh, and the 9 of 12 mid laners I had that gave up after 0/3 by 7." Hell, we can even bring back the Tribunal for this, but players should get to play in the elo they are, not what they are bound to.

I know this isn't the answer you want, but this seems impractical for several reasons:

  • It's been proven time and time again that players can pretty accurately get back to their proper MMR after a fall. You may encounter some bad luck, but the solution is just to play more games.
  • The number of players using this system would be more than human judges could easily handle.
  • Human judges would be significantly more fallible than the computer system, and would not place players as accurately.
  • It is often difficult for a human to tell if a player has fallen in ELO due to getting a streak of bad luck, a series of games that went poorly for legitimate reasons, or a streak of GOOD luck that placed them higher than they should be.

No they don’t, someone who was actually plat level would have so little trouble getting out of bronze it wouldn’t be funny.

Ummm... I started the season in bronze4. After 1/2 the season I've reach my goal of silver5 now while playing 3-5 ranked games per week.

It honestly wasn't that hard. If you truly deserve plat, you should be able to climb out of your ELO, regardless of how badly you've tanked your MMR.

You are just something else. If you are in bronze it's because you are ment to be there for the time. It's called carry yourself if you want to get anywhere on the ladder.
