Unfair LeaveBuster

So I have decent internet (not the greatest, but decent) and am able to play most games without an issue. Lately my client has been error-ing out and closing itself, even after repairs to the client. Because of this, it treats it as an abandon and goes towards penalization. Makes sense. However for the first time in almost two months, my modem shuts off and resets itself during a One-For-All game. I wait for it to reset, I come back and I re-enter game and we end up winning. After the game is over, I get a 20 minute queue time for 5 games because of leaving to many games, yet I came back after my router came back on. I feel this is unfair and should be looked at. Yes it might have made an unhappy play experience for a minute for the players in that match,m however we still came back and won which gave a positive experience.

I understand that eventually you won the game. However, leaving games creates a negative experience for other players, regardless of outcome. If someone on your team was AFK for half the game, you'd rightfully be upset at them, even if you won it 4v5.

Sounds like you're having connectivity problems. Help & Support may be able to help you here. Lots of Rioters monitor that board and post very frequently, so it's worth creating a thread over there and seeking out help from professionals. At the end of the day, your connection is your responsibility. Check out that board and see if you can get any help with your issues.

I would suggest submitting a help ticket if some of the leaves were caused by the client erroring out. Usually it's good to submit with a screen shot of the error so Riot is aware of this and you don't get punished unjustly. These are issues Riot can handle and perhaps help you fix them in some way.

As for the modem reset, there isn't much that can be done about that. The leave buster tracks the increasing amount of games you have "AFKd" (despite them being connection issues).

However, order to receive higher penalties you must have been getting disconnected for more than 5 minutes quite often.

I would research ways to improve your connection in the meantime.

Also: be sure you're not downloading or playing anything in the background if your connection is average at best. I used to play on a toaster of a laptop with 10 FR and a potato speed connection. My only saving grace was being 100% I had absolutely nothing playing or downloading in the background. All I had was league playing and it worked out just fine until I built my own computer.
