Why is banning so easy to do?

Getting banned by communications or by feeding is so easy. All you have to do is have someone say "Ez" or some other small thing like "wow you suck" and have your 5 man premade team all report him and he'll get banned 8/10 times... I don't know where freedom of speech is in league, but playing on North American servers most likely means that 95% of all players are playing in the US, where the first amendment protects free speech. Hate speech is not "You suck", or even a little worse by adding an f-bomb and saying "gg ez game", or even the occasionally "pussy" or whatever they might say; no matter what they're all reportable and will probably get a ban.

A lot of people have a hard time not typing to team mates when they're 0/4 mid and 0/6 bot and then the 0/4 and 0/6 start saying crap about how bad you are... I just don't see, or get why speech is so silenced in league, and why you have to protect the snowflakes... I mean, everyone needs to relax, swearing is a common thing to come by now in private and public areas, there's no 5 year old playing this game so can someone explain why speech is so limited and why banning happens so frequently to those who hardly say much toxic stuff. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Also can someone please explain what "toxic" chat is to you, and what people need to do in order to stop getting banned for the simplest things or just plain out defending themselves. Thanks.

I love how often use the free speech thing. That isn't how free speech works. That isn't how the first amendment works. Here, let me get you the EXACT quote of what the first amendment says: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You know what that means? It means the GOVERNMENT can't do anything to impede what you want to say about them and THEM only, however, a private business, which this game is, it is a private business, doesn't have to let you say and do whatever you please. If you went into a movie theater and you started shouting throughout the whole movie, said establishment has all the right to kick your ass out.

Hence why you don't get in trouble for it, I can say every curse and swear in the book and not see a warning, it is when you start pointing it at people that you get in trouble.

Stop flaming your allies, realize that people have bad games and that 99.9% of the players who do poorly in your games aren't doing it on purpose. Realize just how much of a hypocrite you are by flaming by looking back at games where you are the feeder.

Do you happen to know what first amendment actually applies to? Because it certainly doesn't apply here. It prevents the government from making laws prohibiting free speech.

Riot is free to ban your account for any reason they deem necessary. Which includes chat behavior reasons.

Okay, that's not quite how reporting works. Multiple reports from the same match do not increase the likelihood of a player being punished. Reports alone only trigger a review of the game, and it only takes one report to do this. Any reports after the first do not do anything extra. They don't increase the likelihood that the player's behavior is reviewed or even that the player is punished. What determines if a player is punished is their behavior, not the number of reports they receive.

As for saying minor things like "ez" or "wow you suck," they are somewhat rude and unsportsmanlike. With that said, though, if this is literally the only negative thing you say in any of your game, it's not going to get you punished, unless of course your spamming it throughout the entire game. They can definitely help contribute to a punishment, but alone they won't really do anything.

I don't think you know what Freedom of Speech actually entails. You're correct in that the First Amendment does protect U.S. citizens' Freedom of Speech, but you're forgetting one very important detail: it only protects us from Congress, aka the government. The First Amendment says that Congress shall make no law that restricts or Freedom of Speech (and even then it has limitations), but Riot Games is not Congress, they are a privately owned business. This means they have every right to punish people for what is said on their own private servers. This is the same as malls or restaurants kicking you out if you start verbally harassment other customers.

Reading this hurt my concious sense of humanity. AKA i feel ashamed to be human over this.

That aside, let me tell you some stuff the others haven't answered you so far:

Saying stuff like "You suck" Counts as toxic communication because you are doing NO feedback at all, are sharing NO positive reviews, NO tips or advises and are in NO SHAPE OR FORM BEING HELPFUL. All you do is belittle/Shame someone for doing poorly with an insult. There is no logically possible way to tell someone "You suck" WITHOUT being insulting.

Saying EZ riot put as toxic actions because it has for quite a while now not been used to engage sportsmanlike banter but to mock and belittle your opponents by shaming them as so bad that you had an "easy time beating them". It is a provocative term that has lost any of it's positive purposes.

3rd It isn't about people being snowflakes, it is about you being a selfrighteous bullshitter who thinks just because it is okay to you it HAS to be okay to everyone else, screw anyone who is against you. That, my friend, is egomania. Very sick habit, get rid of it while it is outside of affecting your reallife.

Swearing is okay, Insulting is not. I could use fuck, shit, crap, ass and godforsaken all i wanted, so long as i don't direct it to SOMEONE it is totally okay. And Someone means not just specific people, it means ANY HUMANS.

There might not be 5 year olds, but there are players who reach below the 10 year mark playing league of legends. How that is known is because many of their parents play it too, and sometimes were the ones to introduce their kid to it. Yes, not a smart move, but to each their own. who are we to judge.

Bans happen to anyone who deserves it. Inters, Toxic people, cheaters, scam phishers etc. Riot has their rules, guidelines and terms of use which are all to be followed. if you go against them, you are indiscriminatedly punished.

Last but not least. An argument takes two to happen, who both engage it. There is no such thing like verbal self defence. If you argue back, you don't counter toxicity, you don't fight it, you promote it. Why do you think Tiltbaiting is such a popular thing in lol?

This is one answer to every point you made that isn't the freedom of speech thing you caught up wrong.
