Chat Ban Not Deserved

I was on a huge loss streak and really wanted a win, so I said I was going to duo mid and pull out the trusty Ezreal. I get it was scummy but I didnt think it was bannable. Immediately I'm called a troll by the Ekko who spams my rank in chat and calls me by it, a Silver 5. I didn't see it as that bad but I muted everyone when the game started because I didnt want to hear anything from anyone. I just wanted to win, no flak. The game was alright and halfway through I unmute everyone and the Ekko's flaming hard, spam pinging for missing an mia, dying. He and Kindred both. I say nothing. He calls me bad, he calls me a load of bad things and tells me to shut up when i try to explain. And i say nothing. Then as the game goes near 40 mins i get mad, I admit. I dont flame him but i call him toxic. I tell him stop and that I dont want him to spam ping me or spam my rank or call me bad, cause I know i mess up. He doesnt stop. He goes on with the flame, saying its ok to flame because im a trolll, even though im trying my hardest just to win and im on tilt. I sorta say some bad things which i regret but no cusses, no attacks. I say, okay im a troll then. I say, okay im bad then, thinking he'll stop but no. Then he and the rest of my team report me for autolocking and I get a chat ban because i coudlnt hold my composure for the full game, and the Ekko's unpunished because its one vote against 4.

The second game, I was just having fun but the Eve wouldn't have it. I was trying my best and wanted to try tank Rengar, saw it in a video. Everything was called so I decided to go adc. Eve decided that meant im autolocking top but i was ok with bot. Then we suddenly have someone who switched to cait last second that had to go top. And me, supposedly being unclear by saying adc, was a troll and was what cost us the game. As the game went on, things were aight, I dont say anything. Try to ignore this flaming eve whos calling our katarina and lux trolls for not 1 v 3ing with her and shes calling me a troll for going rengar adc. I didnt even do bad, i was the carry. I guess in both games, my tone was kinda bad but I never was trying to ruin someones game. I wasnt trying to hurt anyone, just wanted people to see what they were saying and doing. And im chat banned for 25 games. My chat ban before this one, I was toxic. But this one hurts because i was ganged up on by groups for doing things that happened before the match started and getting nonstop flak for it, for talking back. The second game, i didnt talk back until the end but even then, nothnig harmful. Didnt know wanting to try something new or off meta like rengar adc or duo mid was chat bannable. And that its ok to flame a troll. And that a tank cant go bot lane or adc. I guess theres other factors into play but I dont believe I deserve this chat ban and I believe that Eve and Ekko should be banned. I guess i should be punished for something, but not this. Not for these games. Not for repeating a PG echo of what a flamer told me.

You created a pretty negative experience for other players with your chat.

Telling people you are muting them is not needed.....Just mute...... still engaged in negativity....

Threatening players with reports by it's self is reportable and can lead to punishments.

Asking for reports is punishable.

For starters, it sounds like you were being generally obnoxious by choosing to force Duo-mid on your team against their wishes. You then decided to harass them by threatening reports against them. Finally, just a generally negative attitude in chat.

In the first game, at the very start you claimed to have muted them (and later muted their pings).

Why did you unmute them only to continue the argument?

Honestly, the first game was a bit of a rough one, as it does seem like it started out with pushing something on the team that they maybe didn't want (duo mid). Muting them is a good idea, and a lot of the guys are right, there really isn't a need to tell them that you are going to mute them. I think that match might have gone better if you had just left them muted. It seems like once you unmuted, they tended to get under your skin, which is when you started firing back.

As far as the second match, there were some ups and downs in it. Same as in the first match, there's no real need to tell people if you are going to be reporting them, and there's never a need to call for reports. In fact, it's considered harassment to do so. But you also seemed to be sticking up for the kat and the lux, and it also looked like you were doing a decent job of communicating in game with the other members of your team as far as when/where to go and what to be doing.

The way the rules work, with regards to YOUR punishment, it doesn't matter what other people do in the game, just what you do. If you reported the Ekko and Eve, they very well might have gotten a chat restriction too. There really isn't a way for you to know, as you would only see the pop-up if yours was the final report that triggered their accounts to be reviewed. So, it's entirely possible that they were also given chat restrictions based on these games.

The only thing I can really suggest that might help you, aside from keeping them muted in the future, is taking a bit more time in champ select to explain to your team what you are wanting to do, and why. And being willing to compromise if they are all adamantly opposed to it. As if all 4 of them are not willing to go along with a duo mid, then you might be setting yourself up for a report on failure to communicate and trolling. It's possible, that had you told them a bit more clearly in champ select for the second match, that you wanted to go tank rengar ad bot, that the cait wouldn't have misunderstood and assumed that you guys needed a marksman. People do tend to automatically assume that all games need a marksman, unless you clearly tell them you want to run a kill lane bot. So to keep from them thinking you are trolling, communication is definitely key. Just as an example, look at what has happened with the smite support singed recently. He was threatened with a permaban over doing something that his teammates didn't want him to do, but in the end, it was resolved with him being exhorted to simply communicate more with his team, which he has done beautifully.

Just some food for thought. Good luck in your future matches, and try not to let the flamers get you down. =)

This is a pretty weak punishment and just kind of goes to show how reacting to the trolls as always is more dangerous than actually trolling in League.

Don't mind some of the RBSC(Rito Butt Slappers Club) members here who just want to dump on you. They do nothing but act like SJW's all day.

I guess this post was misleading. Not trying to talk myself out of the punishment, I totally deserved it. Just wanted the input of others cause i genuinely believed I didn't deserve it, but not anymore. It was my bad for being toxic back.

Except for report calling in both games I don't see anything specifically negative.

Also first part of first game you kind of antagonize the team by telling them you muted them, and it also seems like you're trying to do something the team doesn't agree with.
