I just had two back-to-back games with AFKs

The first game, our jungler went AFK about 10 minutes in and did not come back. We lost because of it. The second game, our support went AFK at 15 minutes in and came back literally right before the enemy team took our Nexus. It's fair to say that we lost both of these matches because it was a 4 v 5.

I did report both of them, but it seems like nothing ever comes of those reports. I almost feel as though going AFK and screwing your team over should have a higher punishment than just being put into a low-priority queue for a few matches. It's awful knowing that you lost a game just because someone decided to leave because they weren't having fun anymore.

Its awful having to sit in a game with shitty teammates who suck dont do objectives no matter how much you ping and you cant yell at them for their stupidity because then YOU get punished. If you leave YOU get punished. If you keep playing YOU HAVE NO FUN. This game is designed to hold you hostage.

Riot doesn't care about AFK behaviour, I always report it, I opened several threads about it, but there is no improvement. So it seems Riot is just fine with you leaving mid-game. I resignated on this topic.

I don't think there should be a higher punishment simply because you don't know why they left. Yes it's annoying and we all hate when that happens but unless the player who went AFK actually showed signs of wanting to give up for no good reason, you can't know why they left. Maybe their power went off or maybe their mom started yelling at them to come down for lunch, it can be anything really. And then imagine logging in to find that you've been banned for a day because you had to leave a game... plus there are always those cases when you're obviously losing from the very beginning but your teammates refuse to surrender, and sometimes, it's just less nerve-wracking to leave and deal with the penalty than waste 40 min of your life. it's fine as it is.

The question is... why they take our lp when we have an afk, why just only penalize the afk and not the entire team i mean -50lp or something like that and not the team, at least less lp cost like a dodge :S
