I Messed Up

During a heated game, I begun verbally abusing my team mates. After the game, I was perma banned. I have anger issues and am seeing a therapist to work through them, and I understand that what i did was wrong, but may i somehow request leniency? I will not make excuses, however I would like to note that I lashed out at members of my team verbally after they insulted me (called me trash, told me to kill myself). I've submitted a ticket (ID: 25614907) but I am worried it will go unnoticed. I have a lot of time and money invested into this account, I really do not want to lose it. I'm hoping that maybe a rioter will see this and perhaps be able to offer some leniency.

I was having a bad day with a lot going on, and being called trash and told to kill myself and otherwise talked down to me caused me to have a teensy mental breakdown- that's what I think happened. This is not an excuse for my hurtful words, rather an explanation for my brief lapse in judgement. Please, this game means so much to me.

See, this is what I like to see when I see people talking about getting permabanned for being toxic. That being said, they do typically give people plenty of warnings before permanently banning them by way of temporary bans and just outright warnings. You messed up and you admitted it, and I do hope that you can get your account back, though I doubt it will happen.

Write up a support ticket. It can take a few business days to get a response past the automatic "we got your request and will forward it to the appropriate department" email, but keep it polite like you did here, and ask about your behavior history and you should at least get some answers.

Biggest tip for support tickets: don't keep resending or updating it especially to ask when they'll get to it. Every time you do that, the ticket is returned to the back of the queue

It's unlikely that it gets reduced if you've already been through the other punishment tiers (the 10x and 25x chat restrictions and the 14-day ban) but that is for player support to decide. Time and money spent also has no value in terms of leniency fyi.

...If I were a Rioter, I'd give you some form of leniency. You're showing signs of taking healthy responsibility for your actions, far more than what I normally see in these threads.

You:

  1. Realized you were hurtful, and that was bad (so many league players don't even get to this point, let's be honest.)
  2. You feel guilt for the way you conducted yourself.
  3. You have identified the issue which caused you to act in that manner.
  4. You are actively trying to resolve the issue.

Four steps that few people successfully check off when handling their anger.

Toxicity will always be a part of such a competitive game and trashtalk will always be around, but this exact type of thread is something that I as a Rioter, as someone who's responsibility it would be to judge these type of cases, I would attempt make a positive example of you regardless of previous logs. Personally, I would encourage this mindset towards bans and toxicity. The only thing I would do is attempt to find some way for you to work it off. Ex. Implement a system where, during a set time period, your over-all ban will be lessened each time you receive an Honorable Opponent, Teamwork, etc.

That would encourage a positive turn-around and potentially cause a shift in mindset, actively forcing the player to reassess their decisions in the moment with a vested interest in staying calm.

(As a final thought, I want to congratulate you on actually attending therapy for your anger and wish you luck on your road to stability and happiness.)

Personally now I'm really curious to know how bad the chat logs were if you went from nothing straight to perma.

It had to be some pretty nasty things to go straight to permaban. Riot has zero tolerance for hate speech
