Being done with this heinous game after six years

Yep, totally done. Six years of playing this and I can't handle this community or this game anymore. Not only that but the sad fact is Riot themselves supports these people.

So you ask people nicely not to do something in game because it could ruin the experience for others.. What do they do next? They do exactly what you asked nicely for them to not do, and they tell you that you are toxic because you asked them to not do that specific thing. You don't say anything bad but tell them why what they're doing is ruining the experience.. They insult you, call you things, and etc.. They report you, and you report them. Who gets the chat restriction or the ban? Well you do of course. Even if what you said wasn't that bad, you get the ban for it..

Now why do you get this done to you? Oh wait that's because the more money you spend on this game, the better treated you are by Riot. Seriously there are some toxic people in this game, and the only reason they're still around is because they spend a ton of money on it. There are people right now playing that are extremely toxic, and are getting away with it.

I have been banned and had chat restriction in the past without saying anything bad towards people who were saying bad things towards others. The funniest thing is, they never show you what the other people said, but only what you said. I get banned for wanting to enjoy the game, and wanting to experience it in a good way. I'm not banned right now, but I'm definitely done with this game. I think if this is the way things are going to be I'll take my thirst for MOBAs to Smite. At least there they don't treat their players like utter crap..

I've went from thoroughly enjoying this game to absolutely despising it.

why announce it though? not being rude just curious yea the toxicity is bad but like a game i had the other day when our vayne tried to insult me i ignored them when they complimented me i said ty in a way i mightve been toxic too only responding when they compliment me XD

Because maybe then something will be done about it. It's so bad right now. It's gotten so much worse in the past three months.. It's hard to ignore it when it keeps getting done over and over again.. Yeah you can mute, but I try to focus on what I'm doing..

You may have been around for six years, but you definitely haven't been on the boards/forum for that long. Announcements like this never make an impact.

It's only the optimistic and constructive posts that get noticed, and even then their opinions are often trumped by what Riot has planned.

Of course it is, because they don't want to be scrutinized. They want everyone to hussy up to them and play around like everything is fine, and everything is going to be okay.

If Riot won't listen to anyone, then nobody should play this game. It's their way or the high way? I'd rather them listen to people for once..

maybe they do listen to people. but, these posts throwing negativity at them and saying "i can't stand it when i am insulted, its all your fault" really don't matter. look, riot is (surprise surprise) human they are far from perfect. and right now, they are focused more on gameplay instead of stupid people. (not saying that you are stupid, good sir)

There's being human and then there's being scoundrels.. They're the latter. They're basically MOBA Hitler. No other game I've ever played treats their players like this. It's truly surprising that league is as popular as it is.

They care so little about the players that they will establish an automated system to ban people for them. It's really ridiculous. They can't handle bans themselves? So many other games have mods that do bans themselves.. Those games are much bigger than League.

I'm sorry if I'm not one of those people who sucks up to them like they're God or something.

hitler killed 6 million people. riot has killed:0. they don't mistreat anyone (if anything, its the fact that they aren't doing anything or the system they use is buggy.). the automated system saves time (would you like to sit at a computer and read the chat logs of every match that someone was reported in?) also, no moba is as big as league (well, not 100% sure, but bring statistics if you want to prove me wrong). annnnnnnnnd ur argument was destroyed by logic!

There isn't a MOBA as big as League... YET there are countless upcoming MOBAs that are starting to do really well.

No shit they have an automated banning system. There are millions of players riot has to govern.

No actually I'm not banned or even have chat restriction at all. I'm just sick of these people. Rito is wrecking anyone who doesn't spend hundreds of dollars on this game.. They will find any little reason to.

To that I say, bs. I know people who are toxic every game I've played with them, and they've been reported by me and others, and I know for a fact they have not been punished at all for it.

But here's the thing. I've played with one of these people so many times that I know exactly when I get them in a queue. They are on damned near everyday I am, and I almost always get this person. I mute him every time, and report him. He still is on as often as he was before.

look, i've spent upwards of 100-150 dollars on this game. one of my friends (who is toxic AF) has spent 300 dollars. He has recived a perma ban. money Garen tees you nothing.

In your case, but I've also seen friends of mine spend hundreds of dollars, and they are very toxic. They've never gotten even a chat restriction.. Lol

If you've read the majority of threads both here and on the old boards in the TBI and PB sections then you would know that that is absolutely not true. If you expect jerks to be banned right away then that's just plain foolish honestly.

  1. If you've already asked them to stop and they refuse to do so then there's nothing you can say or do that will stop them from trolling/being a jerk. Just mute and report them and as long as you're not being a jerk yourself then you won't get punished but they will.

  2. Chances are they've already been punished before, but the moment you start acting poorly yourself is the moment you can be valid reported for your own poor behavior. If both of you act poorly then you'll both get punished. A common excuse by punished players is "I didn't say or do anything wrong!", and 95% of the time they're wrong, as even if the one or two games in the Reform Card don't show a whole lot of wrong-doing, there are always other games that they were reported in that show them acting poorly.

Now why do you get this done to you? Oh wait that's because the more money you spend on this game, the better treated you are by Riot. Seriously there are some toxic people in this game, and the only reason they're still around is because they spend a ton of money on it. There are people right now playing that are extremely toxic, and are getting away with it.

Bzzt, wrong. Paying and non-paying players are treated exactly the same by Riot.

Do paying players get leniency? Paying customers are treated exactly the same a non-paying customers by the Tribunal

Just stop. This is a really silly argument. I didn’t pay for my account any more than you did and while I have bought a number of things, I didn’t have to. There’s nothing relevant to competitive play that I couldn’t have bought with IP.

Also, Riot actively discourages people from making new accounts.

Yes there are toxic players, but be reasonable, there is no way that a game will be 100% toxic player free. As long as you're not the one being toxic yourself though then you never have to worry about being punished.

Well of course they don't show what others say as what they say doesn't matter, as when we look at your cases we only focus on your behavior and no one else's. Someone else's poor behavior doesn't excuse your own poor behavior.

You should know that Riot specifically instructs jurors to ignore most of the conduct of people in a case other than the accused. The reason for this is rather simple: rather than one person causing trouble, you now have two – or more. In my more cynical moments, I have phrased it thus:

Timmy, Tommy and Sarah are trapped in an elevator. Timmy loses his temper and soils himself. Tommy gets angry at the smell and decides to retaliate by soiling himself. Now Sarah is trapped with two smelly idiots. Don’t be Timmy or Tommy. Stop ****ing your pants.

An informal poll of the Tribunal regulars shows that most jurors are willing to excuse a certain amount of response to someone who is attacking you, but that it isn’t considered an excuse for you to become toxic in response. You get MAYBE one or two lines of response. Anything more than that and you’re part of the problem.

You say you've been punished in the past, which means that you knew you were acting up but just didn't care, hence why you got punished. My guess is that's why you're "done" with the game, because you don't like that Riot punishes people who choose to behave poorly when around others. If you're gonna leave then so be it, but just know that many other companies also punish people who choose to display poor behavior when around others.

No actually I don't like Riot in general. That's why I'm quitting. The game's getting less and less fun, and the players are getting more and more toxic. I have been punished in the past for acting up, but this time I wasn't. I asked these people once to quit, and stopped saying anything about it.

I'm aware that companies punish people, but I'm also aware that those companies care enough to do the punishing themselves.

They strongly believe that it's not okay to retaliate, but they'll ban you for leaving a game easily. They punish you for leaving, but they won't take out the button allowing you to quit. They'll say they're going to nerf etc, and then end up buffing them. They say they'll do this, then do the opposite, and it goes on and on.

Case in point, I honestly think Riot is an awful company now. Maybe it has something to do with the people who bought them out. I don't know.. All I know is I'm no longer giving my support. I'll take my business to Dota 2, or Smite, or the countless other MOBAs that are coming out everyday, that honestly are a thousand times better than League now.

I compared them to Hitler earlier, and I stand firmly by my comparison. You can try to rationalize their reasoning all you want. Everyone who has played this game knows something isn't quite right about the people creating it.

Again, if they refuse to stop after you've asked them to do so then there's nothing more you can do other than mute and report them. Also, a reason as to why there seem to be more toxic players these days is because there are generally more players these days as well.

All bans are manually reviewed and handed out by Riot (always have been). In fact there have been allot of Riot posts as of late addressing questions about the bans for some people.

I can't speak for the so-called "promised nerfs", but what I can say is that Riot only punishes you for leaving/afking if you have a habit of doing so frequently. There is built in leniency for emergency issues and the like, but it's up to the players themselves to make sure that they have as little reason/excuse to leave as possible. If they don't and get punished for it then it's their fault, not Riot's.

I've been playing since Season 2 (when Snowdown was still in progress), and while I don't agree with all of Riot's decisions, I do agree with their decision to punish negative players and reward positive players. Plus I just still find the game fun to play every now and then. If I didn't then I wouldn't still be here. Also, I fail to see how comparing Riot to Hitler is fair considering that Hitler punished innocent people whereas Riot doesn't. Yes they sometimes make mistakes, but 95% of the time if a player is punished, it's because they deserved to be punished because of the poor behavior they displayed across multiple games.
