An idea to make the honor system truly rewarding

I think that the honor system should have more incentives. People should really want the honor. As honor stands now, and how it has always been in the past, honor has no true meaning. There is no benefit to it. However, I had an idea based on the charity vote event. Honorable players should receive some kind of bonus for being honorable. For example, in ranked queues, having honor level 5 can earn them 10% more LP AND/OR lose 10% less LP. Being consistently honorable can add even more rewards. This could also be implemented with IP system but balanced enough where Riot Games wouldn't be losing money from RP sales. I don't know if Riot Games have thought of this or tried it out but as someone who has seen how little of an effect honor has on people's mentalities, I think this would be great. Cheers.

While i like the idea of what you're getting at here, I don't feel like the current honor system would work for that. Although Riot added it with good intentions, I feel most people use the honor system to favor the one person that "carried the game". Which in my opinion is heavily weighted towards people who either smurf, are recognizable streamers , ect. Doesn't really make sense to me to provide extra in game incentives, beyond the potential skins that were mentioned, to a system that doesn't really seem like its spread out evenly enough. I think Riot is on a good track currently with what they give out as far as in-game rewards and the effort required to get them and I feel like offering something like more/less LP in games would just promote something exactly opposite of what Riot created it for. You shouldn't be being nice and a good teammate on the hopes of a reward, you do it because you don't want to see the community tank into something worse than it has been. Finally I feel like if a system like that was ever (hopefully not) implemented, it would breed a whole new type of toxic player who flames and potentially ruins his/her next game because they didn't get the honor they felt they deserved from the previous, because they want the bonus LP. Good idea in theory, but i can't get behind the "lets give out extra rewards to the highest honor people" idea.

Maybe Riot should let you pick a free skin if you are at top honors at the end of the season and you are able to stay at top honor.

You have to make having honor rewarding and give something out people actually would want to be good for. I know you get capsules? I've gotten two I think and I've been honor five for some time and sometimes a key fragment. I saw ward skins you get for your honor level too.
