if remakes are a thing that exists, the existing penalties for dcing at the start of a game should be diminished. My computer can be laggy sometimes, no way to control it or know when it is coming, so sometimes it takes me a few mins to connect to a league game. Where i otherwise would be ready to play, i now reconnect to a defeat game then get low priority queue where i have to wait 20 mins to play again?????? If no one else suffered because it was a remake, why am i now having to wait 20 mins to play over something that i cannot control. Especially in normals. riot greatly overestimates the "harmful effect" that dcing has on a players experience. Great game, shitty company.

I think it may be you that underestimates the harmful effect of dcing. If it's happening enough to give you 20 minute LPQ, then you really need to do something on your end. You can control this.

Literally everyone else suffers at least 5, possibly up to 10 minutes of wasted time every time you force a remake OP. As Silent Gravity says, figure out what's causing it and fix it, or don't play games where you tie up other peoples' time for 10 minutes.

Just as an aside, 10 minutes of time, for 9 people, at minimum wage is over $10 dollars. At normal college graduate wage, it's well over $25. Would you prefer Riot made you pay for the peoples' time you wasted?

So you have the knowledge that your pc isn't great and has a high chance of not loading in on a game that constantly updates, so instead of doing something to invest in a better pc, you just blame the game company because you're lazy to get a better pc, right?

Well, if the time nine people spent waiting in queue, champion select, loading screen and in game are negligible, then your 20 minutes should be even less off an issue. After all even the absolute very best case scenario means that your dc wasted over 27 minutes.

It's about intentionality and negligence. He obviously wasn't trying to screw them over and he wasn't simply being negligent. So your point is poorly made my friend.

My point is that he can't simultaneously be this mad about having to wait twenty minutes and then claim that the time that was wasted for the other players means "no one else suffered".

This is not only an obviously hypocritical complaint, it also reveals a way of thinking that shows that this punishment was deserved. He did not even think long enough about the other people in the game to realize that he cumulatively wasted more than twenty minutes of their time.
