Weent to a Gold+ Party in my town and I neeed clarification.

I ACTUALLY saw one of the game of 5 of the people there and the were able to get on the same team to play solo/duo q.
They all had each other as friends and I didn't know whether to be freaked or just pass it as a coincidence that maybe the server did not have as many people on . It was actuallya solo/duo game.

Can anyone verify if this can be consistent/ semi-consistent?
