Why is toxicity a problem

Hi, newly chat restricted scumbag here to screw up your safespace. Why on earth do you play moral police on your game? Why can't people use their mute button and we all stop being little bitches. I understand we as a society are on this left wing internet "protect my safespace" bullcrap but come on. It's words, you don't even have to look at them, in fact can't you just /mute all? Come on riot, there is a reason all games have the "Online experience cannot be Rated by ESRB" because there is no obvious right and wrong, how many times can you tell someone to fuck off before it starts being a problem? And my main point is why does it matter? By chat restricting and banning the people that actually like your game you are conforming to the little wussies in your community. World of Warcraft conformed to the wussies in the community, and look at where their game is now.

Just because you can swear and trash-talk people online, doesn't mean you can't be civil.

since they punish you for quitting or going afk, then that means by extension there must be some sort of moderation system in place to prevent the greater internet fkwad theory from manifesting in every single game as it tends to do anyways. just think about all the people who still troll their asses off even knowing there's this system hanging over them. i play a couple bot games a day and i still see at least one person using a botting program and usually have another game ruined by somebody doing something dumb.

was in a game just now and had a singed run across the map to try to steal rift herald buff from me. explaining to him that's incredibly bm, the buff is only good for a soloer and he's playing with the team, and he didn't help me kill it at all. Of course he already knows that, people just like to be jerks. if i can't quit the game or afk, then you can't be a jerk. seems pretty cut and dry, to me.

Muting isn't ideal. There are times when I'd like to mute a toxic player, however I don't because communicating with them is still beneficial to the team. Muting a player is a distraction, the toxicity is a distraction, and the toxicity lowers morale and your win chance regardless of mute. Morality really is irrelevant, fact is that toxic behavior disrupts the normal intended flow of the game and will cause your team to be more likely to lose. It's no different than intentionally feeding, or revealing information to the enemies such as an incoming gank, your toxicity helps the enemy team, which is griefing and gives the enemies an unfair advantage.

Well you cant flame in chat so people find other ways like feeding intentionally a few kills to a lane or things like that. That will never get banned. GJ lyte and CONGRATZ on your gahy PHD.

because people get butthurt very easily. (especially in league= i remember the old wow arena times (season 1-7) the cs1.6 and css times and i've played many other online games. and you know what? league is the only game where "toxicity" was a term. the pvp player in wow were much more toxic than ppl in league the cs1.6 and css community were even worse (AND THE EVEN HAD A VOICE CHAT). and they never had a real "anit toxicity" prorgamm. the people just got used to it, grew up, and have accepted the fact that the internet is not a place where everybody is a super friendly robot. u cant have a 100% toxic-free game where everyone is annonymous.

Why can't people just shut the fuck up?

Or, people could just not be an asshole in the first place. Gee, isn't that a refreshing concept? But of course not, you're one of the kids who thinks it's cool/tough/whatever else to cuss at people, I get it. Have fun in life.
