Hey guys so I was playing with my friend in ranked in duo q while he had low priority so basically we had a top-laner who fed and inted and then he left the game so i think our whole team reported him but few hours later my friend told me that he got permabanned why did this happen? When someone is permanently banned, usually attempting to log into the client will give some information, and if not, have your friend check his e-mail (including the spam folder). If neither of these options gives any information, then he will have to submit a support ticket asking for the information regarding his ban.
Your friend should look in his email/client and he will be able to tell you. The community can't tell you why.
when your buddy logs in, 3 things can happen:
It gives you a reform card: your buddy was banned for being toxic
It gives you a msg "you are permenantly suspended until x/x/2xxx": Please have your buddy post the year he was banned till, as that is a ban code and will tell us what he were banned till.
the msg will say "please refer to your email for details": means he was manually reviewed and suspended. It could be due to toxic behavior or suspicious activity, but really it can mean anything.
So get us more details and we can tell you more. But then again, it's not like the community can do anything about it, you should get him to submit a ticket at support.riotgames.com
Riot sends an email when you get a punishment and they explain why. I feel like it's not his first tango with the report system if he was given a permaban, but like I said, tell your friend to check the email and it'll explain why.

It could be one of his earlier games, not just this one. Reports takes times to process, he's probably banned for games from days ago which he was toxic or something.
