Why is previous good behavior not taken into account for minor offenses?

How is playing 100+ games without being the least bit toxic and getting honored in almost every single game not count when you do a minor offense? I got a 10 game chat ban for telling a 0/9/2 twitch that inted and went afk to stop feeding and lost all my honor. We ended up carrying him and winning the game but that doesn't matter either.

When talking to the Riot Support employee I just received an automated essay and then a reaffirmation that the punishment will not be reconsidered and that previous behavior does not factor into the punishment.

Although I think the chat ban was completely unjustified it makes no sense to me that previous behavior is not at all considered. Having a minor offense in 1 or 2 games out of 100+ games should not be punishable.

What do you think?

Previous conduct does matter. The system gives you some leeway for occasional slip-ups. If a minor thing got you a restriction, it probably means you slip up a bit too often, or this one was more severe than you thought.

It is taken into account. It's extremely rare that you're banned for a rare game of slightly poor behavior when you've had no punishments in a very long time. Once you've been punished recently you're on a much shorter leash.
