The problem with toxicity

I don't believe that players should be permanently banned for being toxic. This is an intense, nerve racking, stress inducing game and talking shit is apart of that. Trying to reward positive behavior with key fragments is fine, but I don't think people should be penalized for expressing their frustrations. My account has been permanently banned for toxicity, and I admit that after two chat restrictions I saw this coming, however I am a real person that plays this game and I have emotions. So yeah, I'm gonna get mad when some dipshit kid jungler has a shitty build and fucking dies. Does it make me a bad person for telling this kid that he's garbage at this game? Should I be punished for telling someone that is bad that they're bad? Perhaps, but a permanent ban from a game I'm obviously passionate about? It seems unfair when there are players who intentionally feed, cheat, and AFK. League is a Football game run by people who love to give out participation trophies. This doesn't work because in a football game you will get berated for under performing, and coaches will tell you that you suck and you'll be replaced by someone who wants to win. But Riot doesn't care about that, as long you keep playing this game and keep making them money you're fine! Go ahead and feed, and don't worry about people telling you that you're bad, we'll take care of them :) I'm not asking for my ban to be lifted, because within the current guidelines that Riot has in place, I don't deserve it. But I don't want to see other players like myself have to stop playing this game because they've been unjustly banned.

You aren't entitled to playing the game, it's a privilege. If you can't stop yourself from getting so emotionally troubled over a recreational activity, I don't see why you'd be fitting for the community.

Banter is fine, even telling someone their build isn't optimal is fine. Being a complete and total asshole is not. You know where your football analogy falls through? At the player swapping part. In football you can be subbed and changed during a game. For League that doesn't quite work. The player is there for the entire game.

So if an athlete is having a bad game they can swap them out, if a player is having a bad game you just have to cope with it. Maybe they just got outclassed? Berating them is probably not going to help, they can't take 5 minutes to focus and pump themselves back up before going back in.

Intentionally feeding is punished, it does take longer because they don't want to penalize someone for a bad game. It becomes even harder when they pretend to be trying by buying regular items. AFK is punished by Leverbuster after they show a history of such, because once again you don't want to penalize someone for a one time thing for a game. (Casual play, because we aren't getting paid.) And cheaters? Define that one for me. If you mean scripters, they are banned in waves to avoid information on how they identify the programs.

People who claim "I wanna be toxic because its stressful" have never worked retail.

Yes. Yes it does, and yes you should be. There are so many different ways to go about helping someone who isn't having a good game, or (to be blunt) doesn't seem quite right in the head.

League is a Football game run by people who love to give out participation trophies. This doesn't work because in a football game you will get berated for under performing, and coaches will tell you that you suck and you'll be replaced by someone who wants to win.

The difference here is that each game you have an entirely different set of teammates. On football teams, coaches are recognized as someone who wants to better the team as a whole. Over the internet, it can be difficult to tell whether the random stranger yelling at you is trying to help you, or is simply being a toxic jerk. And you're mixing the two completely separate ideas of having a bad game, and wanting to win.

Ok, so what's the solution? Ban everyone that is in the bottom 50% of players? I looked you up on op.gg, and you're Silver 4, AKA better than 40% of players (which there is nothing inherently wrong with, I'm just pointing it out). You would be banned. Yes, you could say "but everyone has bad games, I shouldn't be banned, I'm only human!", but that argument applies to literally everyone else in the lower rankings.

This part is unsupported. Don't say you're "unjustly banned" without providing us with chat logs/video evidence. The thing is, you agreed to the Summoner's Code and Terms of Use, but you still broke them. You were justly banned because Riot reserves the sole discretion to ban anyone with or without cause (but they would not abuse this power, as they are not a singular corrupt governing body, so they would have good cause). Playing League of Legends is a privilege, not a right, and Riot has decided you are not deserving of that right. You are justly banned.

So basically, other players have to play the game as you would see fit otherwise you're entitled to go on a fit and have no self control over what you act out upon? That'd be fine if there weren't repercussions in which you are well aware of after your first offense. And to take the real world out of this, this applies to numerous other games out there. If you want the perfect games for yourself, make some friends to share and experience with. Otherwise, you like a lot of others will have to accept that you will have these games and these players who will build unorthodox to your opinion or act just as worse as you would have. If you don't want to show yourself to be the better person, then by all means punishments are free to come your way given time.

This is why you should never spend money on this game. I agree with you wholeheartedly and the people downvoting you probably don't even play this game. I don't think anyone should be banned for any reason outside of intentionally feeding, trolling, or using racial slurs. Anything other than that is fair game to me. I grew up in the age of FPS' where people did nothing but yell at each other while trashing anyone who they stomped. Yet for some reason Riot wants to try and control human behavior. It is absolutely absurd to me. I wonder what would happen when a Rioter was confronted by a bully. As a matter of fact someone should come out with a web series about the day in the life of a Rioter and how their philosophy on gameplay contributes to their boss/coworker/spouse/friends torturing them non-stop.
