first chat ban ever (2 years of time played)

TL;DR - Do bans fade away and what do they make your account/you as a person look like?

So about a week ago I got my first chat ban ever out of the two years I've been playing this game. (Not only on this account, but on others I have just hit a stalemate and leveled a new one only to be placed in my real rank - the one i was in before lol ;P) but I got to thinking about it and I was wondering if these bans ever go away from record? Also do these make my account look bad? I feel like the ban information site does not really address any of these questions.

But on a side note I noticed that after my ban was finished I got a ban on receiving loot that didn't take long at all to go away. If I was more toxic would it have lasted longer? Or is it just because it is my first ban and it only took 5 games.

And lastly I'm not criticizing the ban system in any way, for I think its a great system ( that could use some work for instance if someone is running down mid just to troll and someone rages at them for ruining their game, the person who raged at the troller gets reported and banned, or if someone is outrageously toxic and somehow doesn't banned ) - I'm just asking a couple questions about the appearance of how bans look on the account and if they fade away over time.

Punishments work on a 4-tier system. Continuing to consistently display negative behavior after punishment will lead to the next tier, and extremely toxic behavior can result in skipping tiers, which are as follows;

  • 10 game chat restriction
  • 25 game chat restriction
  • 14 day account ban
  • Permanent account ban

While you do go up each time you're punished, you can fall back down the tier list by simply not being a negative/toxic player - it takes most players about 3 months of good behavior to drop down a tier. If you are banned near the end of the season or have an active chat restriction when it ends you will be ineligible for rewards, but other than that and the tier you're on there's not really any black marks against your account.

your account will be eternally punished and will never reform
