I just got banned out of no where!?

I got home from work late last night and tried to log in only to see that I had been suspended until September 12th, 2016 (2 Week Ban). This came as a surprise to me because I didn't think I had done anything wrong. The message also stated that I should check my email for details about the suspension. I have received no email from Riot or League of Legends in general detailing the ban. I even created a ticket with Riot Support asking why I have been banned and have received no response in almost 20 hours. I understand that I may have been banned for a reason I just would like to know why and what exactly I was banned for so I can try and avoid it again. The ban seems rather out of the blue since I didn't have any active chat restrictions or ranked restrictions or even a report notice. The last time I had a chat restriction was over a year ago (February 2015) and since then I've tried to reform. Just seems rather out of the blue. I don't really know where else to turn to find out answers since the Riot support website doesnt seem to work.

Be patient. The support ticket is the right approach. Just give them some time and you'll get a response. And don't try to 'bump' your ticket by commenting on it cause that'll actually drop it back to the end of the queue.

There seems to have been a ban wave. There's been a lot of people coming here to describe a 2 week ban ending on september 12th. I haven't been able to determine what the bans are for, but I think it's very likely your ban was part of that wave.

For some reason I have a feeling that it's people who are spamming pings, but that's pure speculation and I don't actually know this at all.

This exact thing happened to me aswell, been over 2 days no ticket responce, I haven't "bumped" it. I mean this is kinda stupid, I'm not even able to play ranked yet (not level 30 apparantly) but this happens to me, I don't know what the heck is going on. I read some other threads and it seems like the people are the same They aren't toxic (I've never been punished or anything) They don't cheat or anything It just makes no sense what could possibly be the reason. When I get a support ticket reply I'll try to remember to post it here

dude this happened to me but its till the 17th i hope riot fixs our issue, my ban was not because i was toxic it wasnt because i boosted it wasnt because i was afk or anything like that i honestly need help for this. But they gave me an email that gave me no clues it told me something about legal use but i have no idea.

Same thing happened to me. I submitted the ticket then the ticket got moved because Riot doesn't give you an option to get a support ticket for Player Behavior. Either way that was Sunday.

It cannot be chat related since they would prove that with chat logs. It cannot be for cheating because thats an automatic Permaban, nor can it be for an account being compromised/Payment issue as those are permaban till the issue is resolved. The only other option it can be is that you were trolling/feeding, or some other way to diminish your teammates from winning the game. Those usually get a 14 day ban right off the bat because they are much harder to find. Plus how exactly would they show you that unless they gave you a video file or something to show that.

K i got a response to mine. It was due to some mix of negative behavior. The three games quoted did show some toxicity from me and all showed me asking for reports for the bad players in those games. It's pretty frustrating that riot judges words more harshly than actions

Still no response almost 3 days later... like what do they even do at Riot Support Offices?
