Losing LP due to trolls in ranked

Is it really fair to those who are left in the ranked game to lose LP because someone decides they don't want to play or wants to troll their team? Just today I've had at least 3 games where either my team or the enemy team loses because someone decided to afk for most, if not all the game, intentionally feed, or just being toxic to the rest of their team. There shouldn't be losses in LP for players with teammates that afk and leave them to die, or at least some sort of way to mitigate the amount of LP lost. For someone who is just starting to climb, this is really off putting and overall it makes the game less enjoyable for everyone else.
