Anyone else think reporting is out of hand?

So recently it doesn't seem no matter what you say, no matter how positive or negative you are you can get reported... Now I know plenty of times it doesn't mean anything but I'm sure that over time being reported over and over for something maybe so small will have an effect on your account. I can give someone some advice in game or even give an opinion... they don't agree well now im getting flamed and then end up getting reported... I just feel like the report system is getting abused on a grand scale and I feel that it's too easy to get reported... If people can't play a competitive game and take any criticism then they have the option to turn chat off right? I'm not saying I approve of toxic behavior but everyone thinks they are entitled to an opinion right or wrong and everyone thinks that if they have the power to report someone they should.. Just a rant kind of think it's silly

I think toxic people are more out of control. I remember when i first joined league having some toxic people but for the most part friendly and i made a lot of friends. Less and less of them are playing now though and the toxic people went from 1 out of every 10 games to about every game or every other. Its really out of control.

False reports are weeded out very effectively, and even when they are valid somehow it takes a very high percentage of your games reported to get punished (as in, 10 valid reports in 100 games has a much lower chance of you being punished than 10 (valid) reports in 20 games).

You haven't been punished yet, have you? You don't have to worry about anything if you're actually being positive.

Keep in mind though that there is a difference between criticism and being a jerk; insults never made anyone play better, and incessantly trying to "be helpful" when they don't want your help is nothing less than harassment (doesn't matter if you're wrong or right). Muting and language filters is not an excuse to abuse a person in any context; they shouldn't have to rely on it for you to leave them alone, and that is Riot's official stance on the matter so there is no arguing it.

No.

You just never had the popup before. I guarantee there's little to no increase in troll-reporting.

What happened is now you can actually SEE those trollreports. Before, you never knew they happened.
