Im Diamond, but I dont have to win every Game

Well here I am. Diamond 5. Ed of the season and actually im really happy about it. But there is 1 Problem which I cant deal with. Everytime im playing normal with friends (silver/gold) i get matched with other silvers obviously. In my opinion, to play normal is training or testing new champs. So i played Gangplank for the 2 time in my whole life. Obiously after 10 secs (like seriously every single game) someone of enemy team opens the all chat "Why do we get matched with Diamond" and Im thinking evey single Game "hell, deal with it instead of crying or at least try to improve, to become better" Im really annoyed of this, cant play normals anymore cause the flame is damn insane. well wasnt the whole story yet. I left my Lane 0 2 0 cause of 2 ganks by nocturne. I started to just farm to get my Items ( actually this is what Gp has to do, isnt it?) and I made it in the end of the game to the highest farm and 8 5 3 stats. Here is the worse part of this community: In endscreen ( I lost) the renekton asked me if I am elo boosted or something, cause I did bad in his opinion or w/e. I told him that I just tried out a new champ and that im actually Mid-main. His answere was "dude, u are diamond" and here is my Point. DIAMONDS ARE NOT GODS. WE DO MISTAKES. WE FAIL. AND WE LOOSE. (sorry for caps I have to make a point) But seriously, there is a reason why we are in Diamond, there is a reason why u arent be in Diamond. And U DO NOT deserve Challenger and we are not eloboosted or ebay accounts only cause u killed us ONE TIME. this is not in an offensive way but pls. If u think someone high elo is bad keep it in ur mind or use ur adventage and rape him or w/e but dont annoy us so god damn hard with ur trashtalking every game.

I think it's pretty easy to fall into the mindset that diamond-tier players are these sort of gods just because for some of us, that kind of skill seems so far out of reach. But expecting you to maintain the standard in our head at all times is all kinds of unfair.

Sorry they immediately accused you of being boosted. :/ You're only human. People tend to forget that.

Well a lot of low elo players are constantly told they're shit compared to plats or diamonds so when they see someone who's supposedly god like compared to them they're going to get pissed when their standards aren't met.

To be fair, avoiding ganks and such are things that aren't exclusive to your "main" champs.

To be fair normals matchmaking is pretty shitty, especially TB. I OP.GG every game and there is consistently 2 plats and a diamond against a team of silvers, and 300 MMR differences between the teams are commonplace. Also 5 man premades against solo players is a huge issue in TB and I am worried about the upcoming "Dynamic Queue"

But then again constantly laning against players 10-15 divisions above me, while painful, has forced me to improve my game. Now when I do play ranked (Bronze 3) I find it almost too easy, whereas if I stayed in ranked and constantly played against players who don't abuse weaknesses or punish mistakes I would probably never have gotten better.

I agree. The struggle is real, im diamond too and happens EVERY normal game. Everyone thinks we have to play perfectly and dont miss any skillshot because we are diamonds. Its really annoying how people thinks diamond players cant just relax and try a new champ/play with his friends relaxed and without tryharding,

DorkunedAuras11/8/2015, 11:16:47 PM3 votes

This is why I don't look up players I'm against ahead of time. if you go in thinking they're diamond, you play passive when you could win lane if you tried to. You also don't get the attitude to mock them for failing.

Earlier, I was playing my main in normals (RekSai top) and apparently the Renekton I was killing in lane was diamond V. I didn't give him flak for it when he mentioned it. I just figured he was having an off game, or, as a later found out, he hadn't played Renekton for about 2 years. sometimes you just fail. Doesn't mean you don't earn your diamond ranking, just means you're having fun in normals.

If I go less than 15-0-15 I'm boosted. If I do, I'm a scrub who picks on low elos for fun. my diamond border gets me greif in about 80% of normal games no matter how I play

Shac Norris11/8/2015, 3:44:30 PM3 votes

Upvoting this, i've seen this happen so often :l

Like people understand that people who are higher elo are better than them, but they think that since they are better at the game, they never lose against anyone who's lower than diamond... :l

Auryiel11/9/2015, 6:03:56 AM2 votes

I have to admit, sometimes in ARAM I get matched with very high elo players (mostly plats and diamonds, got of a few masters or challengers or w/e I don't know which border is which) and sometimes I can't help but think ''Man, why are they so bad?'' but I keep it to myself (also it IS ARAM lol).

Also I played a normal once, like a month ago, versus an LCS player (I did not know this at the time, several people were fanboying over the guy and I thought they got trolled but I later checked it out and I'm 95% sure it was the pro player, either way he was at least in one of the highest ranked tiers) and he really didn't play surprisingly well either... As in the guy's a support main and aside from ganking me mid (which most supports do not do at silver/gold elo) a couple of times, he didn't do anything exceptional, both in and out of lane

So yeah, people, despite their rank, can play badly once in a while for whatever reason. It's funny and/or frustrating to notice, but I don't see the point in talking about it in chat.

Roodrak11/8/2015, 8:31:31 PM2 votes

I play alot of normals, and in my experience, rank doesnt matter at ALL. I've done premades where my friends give up just because they are facing a diamond. I've never met a Diamond player (1-5) that I'm 100% unable to beat. Rank only means that that person learns from mistakes. If a Bronze plaayer tried to beat a Diamond, and I mean really tried (putting all their bullshit excuses away) they would have a real chance.

Retaliation is not how a grown-up person sticks up for themselves; it's how an immature person tries to exact revenge for a perceived wrong. Sticking up for yourself is focusing on completing the task at hand to the best of your ability, then filing a report at the end of the game to see that the offender is held responsible for their actions.

No offense if your diamond or plat, you guys should have learn the other lanes & different roles back when were in Bronze. If the majority of diamonds & plats lack in is area i can assure you that these players Duo in solo Queue just achieve to get Diamond or Plat.

Again each "Role" in TB goes by MMR, so it's possible for a bronze to be put up against a diamond "who sucks @ his new role".

Tho the majority of why some bronze, silver & gold can't get out of their division it's because Plat or diamond smurf accounts. In Rank one day Solo Queue I got match up with a duo team against me their Leblanc was just raping havoc onKatarina & others, so yea i even noticed the Leblanc was the only warding on his team evenitem 3361 if he tried to carry he eventually had no vision to poke cautiously. He took me out twice, but that's expectedeven if I was the only enemy warding, I survive 3 encounters against this Leblanc who was 41-4-11 & my team manage to win by vision. When I look him up he was Diamond 3 probably boosting someone up in bronze, which is why boosted Diamond or plats seem to suck which when they should not.

I am unranked and go against Plats and Golds a lot on my own, with friends it's pretty common for the Diamond guy to pop up, as we have a diamond friend too.

I found when I stopped checking LoLNexus all the time I actually got better because analyzing your opponents in that manner makes you have wrong assumptions about them, I have played games expecting to get destroyed because the guy I am going against was Gold 1 only to find I was better then him and could have won, other times we see a bronze and expect less, sometimes we see weird runes or mastery setups and still underestimate them.

Man In Sky11/9/2015, 6:29:54 PM1 votes

Dude I'm on the same boat as you. When I norms, I get gold 1 - Diamond 2 around there. It's terrible lol...

MetalGearTeemu11/9/2015, 7:50:33 PM1 votes

Never ever stat people when you play. You only get into your own head if they're higher rated then you or you get on a winning streak.

EVERYONE you are against is Wood 5 and horrible. Go into the game with that mindset and you will be amazed how far your ego takes you. Draven

PandahHeart11/10/2015, 12:57:32 AM1 votes

I don't think I've ever been matched with anyone Diamond+ in any game mode. Well maybe I have, I just didn't know or look at those times. I started looking this year and the highest I've played with or against is Plat 3.

I think it would be cool to play with a diamond and learn from them though lol.

Meet The Fakers11/10/2015, 5:34:17 PM1 votes

I totally agree with all of this. I am Platinum 5 and when I play with my real life friends i get put with silver and bronze players. I play normals to practice lanes i NEVER play. But when you start losing to a silver they flame you with all of this hate and elo boost accusations. It is absurd because i worked my ass off to get to where I am now. Am i not allowed to practice new champions without demeaning comments being thrown in my face?

Spacesuit Spiff11/9/2015, 12:07:49 AM1 votes

Im d4 and i routinely get dumpstered by silvers when i try to play top in norms. People seem to think that diamonds are infalliable gods... because the alternative is realizing that its humanly possible to play better than a silver who secretly deserves challenger

JediSenpaiNP11/9/2015, 1:09:33 AM1 votes

Maybe I can help clear up this behavior, as while i don't do it, as a bronzie, i can see why. When we see Diamond, or even plat for that matter, we are WELL aware that this guy must be really good at the game, since we can't even get out of bronze or silver, and they managed to pass gold. But the thing is, we don't always know WHY. So we just assume everything is the problem. Some it might just be map awareness, some it might be mechanics, but we don't always know for sure, and assume because its everything, you have great control over everything in the game. So when we do manage to ever outplay or get a kill on a Diamond or Plat, we still don't understand the fact that A. People make mistakes and B. Plats, nor Diamonds, are invincible and all-knowing. We get mad, because we assume automatically that was what we lacked in, and thats how you all got to plat+. That about, imo, sums up why bronzies and silver medals act like that sometimes.

i get u people get happy when they beat my riven in normals like my riven doesnt have a 20% win rate

when i play riven ur basically playing against CoD bots with recruit difficulty

Davy Crockett11/9/2015, 3:41:39 AM1 votes

Bruh, I got boosted to wood 5, you got nothing on me.

Blue Mystified11/9/2015, 3:42:40 AM1 votes

not you obviously you're a sweetheart but a lot of diamonds/plats call anything below them absolute garbage disgusting cancer pieces of trash so it's hard to not have this generalization against diamonds and higher ranked people in general. I mean, pretty much every vocal high ranked person has a trashy opinion about Gold and below. If i won against a diamond i wouldn't say anything (i have before actually i remember she was an ahri) but the second they mention "cant believe i lost to garbage tier" or something like that it just goes out the window. I'm sick of people treating diamond and plat like it's achieving immortality

Kwon Ri Sae11/9/2015, 5:53:57 AM1 votes

I agree with this. It's like... yeah, I'm playing Nami Mid in Normals with my Silver friends, stop complaining enemy team "why are we matched with DIamonds, lol must be boosted."

Auryiel11/9/2015, 6:00:16 AM1 votes

And then people wonder why we smurf, im fucking sick of playing normal's just because im diamond 4.

Gorgannan11/9/2015, 6:54:33 AM1 votes

Eh, diamonds skill is downplayed a lot, but unless they're diamond 3-1, they're probably not a huge threat. People need to stop complaining.

Masters on the other hand, I can't learn from them :P they're so far above me that I don't even understand how they're winning.

Diamond 5 tends to be the place boosted players are. So you'll get flammed for that.
