Instant 14 Day Bans... What are your thoughts? + A suggestion

**Background: ** I recently got a 14 day suspension. During a game, I let my temper get the best of me and I said a phrase that encourages suicide (I think you all know what I mean). The phrase has really been desensitized on the internet, and in the moment of my anger I didn't realize the weight of what I was saying. However, I understand that I completely deserved my suspension. Again: I understand that I completely deserved my suspension!

In the past, I have been honorable enough to never receive a chat restriction or suspension (4 years of active play).

**Suggestion: ** Phrases that riot deem to be bad enough to skip all previous punishment levels should be blocked completely. I see no reason for them not to be. Yes, people will try to get around a filter, but why not filter out the phrases anyway. If not protecting the community from hate speech and other things, it is protecting the sender from making a mistake in the heat of the moment. Everyone slips up sometimes, especially when they are on tilt or having a bad day. If there is a filter that completely blocks your message from being sent, it will give you a moment to think about your actions, and realize that you should not say that.

**Final Thoughts: ** Do you guys think an instant 14 day suspension is deserved after what I said. Yes what I said is horrible, but it is not hate speech. (Discriminatory language). Essentially, for one message that I should have rethought, I am now losing rewards for a season of hard work, and am one slip up from a permanent ban. Let me know what you think.

I must admit that I do think the 14-day ban is fully appropriate. Whether you are a traditionally honorable player or not, you told another player to kill themselves over a video game. You shouldn't need a warning for that, and the fact that you typed that in the first place is the problem.

I also don't think filtering is the solution, because all that does is encourage people to use other, less easily detected ways to express the same sentiment.
