Just recovered my account after receiving an email that my account got banned for 3rd party software.. I have not touched my account for a year so this is quite a shock for me. Any suggestions on how I should further approach this?

I think you should put this in the help & support cathegory. Sry can't help you with your account.
Just create a new account, and even then, does it really matter if you yourself haven't touched the account in over a year?
If it was PERM ban i doubt they will help. My Yahoo was hacked and i lost alot. My steam account,LoL and everything. I just got it back a few months ago and this is after a year that yahoo took to recover my account. So i get my yahoo back i start resetting everything and i sign into lol. BOOM PERM ban. I open a ticket with proof behind the attack and yahoo msgs and everything. They still wont unban the account even though i sent them email from yahoo that my account was COMP.
