"Report Weight" Discussion

I recently received a notification that someone I reported had been punished and have been thinking about the "behind the scenes" report weighting. That is, if you report people correctly your reports have more weight than someone who consistently reports falsely. Have we ever been given clear guidelines for this? I'd love to know exactly how well I've done, but understand that a completely transparent system is probably not going to happen. A few questions I'd have, though.

1.) Am I losing report weight for being slightly heavy handed with the harder to measure violations of summoners code? For example, if someone starts "ff 20" or "gg" as soon as things start going wrong, I generally give them negative attitude. Constantly telling people that they picked a bad champion or piling on someone for mistakes will sometimes get "verbal abuse", although criticism _can _ be constructive as well.

2.) Does the report weight change over time? Can you go from a low report weight to high and vice versa. I'm sure I've falsely reported people out of frustration (though this system nicely curbs that urge) and would like to know how much that hurts me.

3.) Any chance of getting more information on the results of our reports? Certain cut and dry cases (reporting racism, homophobia, etc.) would be easy to show that a player has been banned on.

We don't have hard-and-fast numbers for any of this and it's unlikely that they're going to let us under the hood.

1.) Am I losing report weight for being slightly heavy handed with the harder to measure violations of summoners code?

Not really. Lyte mentioned at one point that it's really geared towards **false **reporting as compared to **strict **reporting.

2.) Does the report weight change over time?

Yes.

3.) Any chance of getting more information on the results of our reports?

Feedback on the outcome of your reports is currently in consideration/development. As you can imagine, it's a complex thing.

I would like more information too, I generally don't report players who say things like "Bad Game" " "FF 20" or "GG" I feel this is abusive of the report option for "Negative Attitude" I only really use this when someone keeps saying "Surrender" like more than one time without a valid reason for why we should surrender, sometimes there is just almost zero chance to win a game and suggesting FF @20 is okay, but if they keep complaining, threaten to go AFK, or FEED, then there is a valid report.

Calling out a player for having a bad champion, Sometimes I do this when a player has just auto locked stuff, I feel players should be able to be reported for this type of bullshit that happens 99% of Solo Queue Ranked, and is the main reason for my many losses of games, choosing a bad champion is the number one reason in many cases, there is a difference between saying "A champion is bad" and harassing a player constantly over picking a champion, for example, players start harassing me in chat about how I am doing so bad at the game, and I am like, "Honestly you shouldn't have auto locked thresh, we could be having a great game right now."

Since the new report system / Reset I haven't gotten any restrictions yet, and hope not to but since 2.1 I hear they have added automated restrictions back, and without proper review I think people are going to start getting automated ranked bans / chat bans without valid reasons again I really hope this is not the case.

So yeah I would love information on how the new "Instant Feedback with automated restrictions is going to work." Because honestly I am tired of players in games over 90% of them who get hateful for doing off meta say toxic stuff when they auto locked and didn't even communicate anything themselves or flat out suck at the game then rage for throwing off a persons game-play and the said player does badly because of that. (Yes I report Auto Locking Too when players get toxic because of it so it would be great if there was a report option for "Auto Locking". And no communication that would at least tell players they need to change their behavior with a link to the summoners code and part they are breaking by not talking and just picking strictly based off role." Like I understand players are new sometimes in Ranked especially B5, but the anger when someone does something they deem crazy because of auto locks and failing to carry the game is insane sometimes.
