"Report Weight" Discussion
I recently received a notification that someone I reported had been punished and have been thinking about the "behind the scenes" report weighting. That is, if you report people correctly your reports have more weight than someone who consistently reports falsely. Have we ever been given clear guidelines for this? I'd love to know exactly how well I've done, but understand that a completely transparent system is probably not going to happen. A few questions I'd have, though.
1.) Am I losing report weight for being slightly heavy handed with the harder to measure violations of summoners code? For example, if someone starts "ff 20" or "gg" as soon as things start going wrong, I generally give them negative attitude. Constantly telling people that they picked a bad champion or piling on someone for mistakes will sometimes get "verbal abuse", although criticism _can _ be constructive as well.
2.) Does the report weight change over time? Can you go from a low report weight to high and vice versa. I'm sure I've falsely reported people out of frustration (though this system nicely curbs that urge) and would like to know how much that hurts me.
3.) Any chance of getting more information on the results of our reports? Certain cut and dry cases (reporting racism, homophobia, etc.) would be easy to show that a player has been banned on.
