Finding it hard to play elsewhere on the map without getting flamed at?

I'm a relatively new player (level 13). I wouldn't consider myself overly competitive - but I do understand the need for competitive gameplay. I'm very much an irregular player, too, when it comes to activity. I might play 3-4 games one day, and then take a break for a few days.

But I'm beginning to become slightly frustrated with the way I'm being treated in-game. Over the last month or so that I've been playing, I've positioned myself mostly at top or mid. However, recently I wanted to try jungle. I understand jungle can be difficult, but I didn't think it would be too late to try something new? I feel like I'm being punished for trying to play elsewhere in the map now? Alright, I understand some people take the game more seriously than others, but I did not expect to be told to quit and uninstall the game because I missed some gank opportunities (especially playing with players who are my level).

Before entering games with real players, I even read several guides and watched tutorials, and in addition to this, I also played some all-bot games just to get a feel for the role...

Unfortunately I'm scared to enter games playing as jungle now - because I don't want to be constantly harassed for a few small mistakes. Do I need to read more guides or play more all-bot games - how do I improve or escape this dilemma I have?

Soon as you enter the game say "no offense, but i'll be ignoring you all. " type /ignore team

and play the way you want. Get some experience with the champs, and what they do.

thats what the leveling process and normal games are for.

And welcome to Jungle life. Bad laners ALWAYS blame the jungler!

remember, its not your job to win their lanes for them. Its to secure objectives, ward the jungle, and punish/capitalize on bad enemy play.

The people who REALLY rage in low level games are just angry smurfs looking for people to pick on to stroke their ego. They are having a power trip playing against people way less experienced than themself. Most of these people are awful at the game too so they go in with a huge ego expecting to solo carry the game as 30/0/0 yi and the team ends up doing bad or losing so they just blame everyone else including new players who are learning the game!

Mute all is fine to do if you're feeling scared of chat but when you have some more confidence just mute when people start harassing so you can meet the nice people too and use chat for game tactics still.

You can also record your games and get feedback on it from reddit /r/summonerschool or play with someone who is more experienced and get actual advice for what you're doing wrong. I vaguely remember being confused by jungle also when i first started playing...partly because of all those games where there was no jungler because no one had smite. Stupid level design by riot. lol.

Don't play with humans until you learn the game. You can practice Jungle in Bots. In fact, it's easier because you will not be counter jungled. Stop blaming other players because you are inexperienced.
