Leave buster is crazy stringent

So, leave buster wasn't really around the last time I played league that much, but Christ is this system stupid. In maybe 100 games, I've dodged or afk'd 3 times that I can count. I get that yeah que times are super long for certain roles, but some times things happen. The US' infrastructure isn't as good as people think, especially in rural areas, and occasionally (twice in maybe 3 months) my lights have flickered. Unless I'm mistaken, I've had 2 dodges and 1 afk. None of which were intentional., except for a game I dodged because I was getting trolled. But, now I'm sitting in a 10 minute low priority que. This shit's crazy. Ironically it's probably hurting people more in the long run, since I'm qued as support ffs.

A lot of people want to see you banned for this, but I partly agree with you. Sometimes there is a good reason for leaving queue. Riot however, says you are responsible for your connection and that leaving is being done on your own risk(even if you exit the game it gives you a message). It also affects 4 other players who get screwed over by you leaving. You can not leave afk's unpunished because when they did that people would just fucking dodge forever.

you will probably be out of low p queue in 2 to 10 games so just sit it out, it really isn't that bad of a punishment.

There is never an excuse to afk in games, and I really doubt you have only dodged 3 times if leavebuster hit on you. I've had disconnects and power failures as well, multiple times in one day, but have NEVER been hit by leavebuster... WHY? Because I don't leave or AFK ever on purpose, so the builtin leeway is never used up.

Your connection is YOUR responsibility, your ability to play through a full game without leaving is on YOU. And with you admitting that you AFKed on purpose because people were 'trolling' you just tells me that you leave/afk way more than you are willing to admit.

Stop afking, stop leaving, stop dodging.

The LB system is there to prevent people from just leaving/afking whenever they want. It has built-in leeway for emergency situations (i.e. hospital, family emergency, internet issues, etc.) but the more and more that you leave/afk the more and more that you use that leeway up until the point that it hits you hard for leaving/afking games. You want to build that leeway back up? Then just simply don't leave or afk in games, it's that simple.

P.S. If you know that you have a bad internet connection and yet you queue up to play despite that, then you have no right to complain if LB hits you as you willingly went in knowing the fact that you might have issues staying connected long enough to play the game through to the end. You are responsible for making sure that things like your internet connection are taken care of before you queue up for a game. If not, then the fault lies with you and you alone.

P.S.S. Other people behaving poorly does not excuse your own poor behavior. If you retaliate negatively then you will both be punished instead of just the one original trolling rager.

Back during the Bilgewater event there was a glitch with the new HUD that was causing lots of people to dc from games. I was one of them and I dc'd from every game I played, however I was always back on as soon as possible (would only take a minute or two to load back in)

Now, why didn't I just wait to play? I was going on vacation a couple days after the event started and wanted to play as much as possible to get the rewards I could, since I wouldn't really be able to play on vacation and who knows how good hotel wifi is.

Before the event, I had NEVER been punished. No Leaverbuster. No chat bans. Nothing. Because of the glitch causing me to dc, Leaverbuster punished me, and ever since it has not left me alone. There was a week where on 2 separate days I was playing and had time to play, but something came up and I had to leave the games. Before those 2 games I had not left a game in a very very long time. Leaverbuster immediately busted me and I had to wait 10 minutes before each game.

My problem with Leaverbuster is that it can't tell the difference between the game crashing, and someone leaving or ragequitting intentionally. So then people who's games are simply acting up end up being punished the same as a ragequitter would as far as LEaverbuster goes.

The Bilgewater thing drives me nuts whenever I think about it. Yea, I understand you are in charge of your connection and wifi, but RIOT is in charge of their game. They had the HUD being tested on the PBE for a while, and then it caused that major glitch with a large chunk of people when they released it. They tried to run a huge event and install a brand new HUD at the same time, so the glitch took a while to fix because they weren't sure where exactly it was coming from. It could've been coming from something in the event, or the HUD, but it took them a while to find it because they added lots of stuff all together. I know I wasn't the only one who was Leaverbusted during that time. My connection was fine, the game was not.

I've only ever left games due to unplanned circumstances that cme up (like a couple weeks ago, my dog threw up while I was in a game. Let all my teammates know and I sat my champ in spawn while i cleaned it all up. Didn't actually dc from the game but was back within a couple minutes and everything was fine. Teammate even asked how my dog was doing (she gets into stuff every once and a while and finds a way to get it no matter what you do ._.))

I've never left a game because of toxicity, I've always just dealt with it.
