Venting Over 2019 So Far
So I've had a low opinion of ranked for the past two years and have only made it so close to Gold before I deem the grind not worth the headache and I came into this season with a new mindset, but 'lo and behold, the sheer amount of smurfs swarming lower elos are plaguing me and already dashing my hopes to ever taking this game seriously. Trolls don't ever seem to be punished irrevocably, or their smurf accounts are the only things taking the hit. Its just disheartening to see that its become the majority of games where a troll decides to pick my game to be a dunder head.
For example; last game, I had what seemed to be a good comp being hovered over by teamates. But then everyone just McSpazoid and picks Kayn mid, Rengar Top, and Graves jungle, and most of all, the one who was queued as an ADC (after hovering Draven), slams the Janna ADC pick instantly. And then flames me for picking an actual ADC instead of cooperating with what Im already suspecting to be a troll/smurf. They stole or flubbed up CS and KS'd teamates and eventually said, exactly-
> Im a smurf by the way. We were going to win no matter what we picked.
And with an excellent start whilst trying to deal with CS being taken and an extremely scaling enemy team, we lost rather quickly. All because someone thought it was a GREAT idea to allow people to have no consequences whatsoever when it comes to alternate accounts. Maybe it's my fault for expecting at least half my games to go better, or maybe I should be waiting for the season to be less fresh so the smurfs filter out, but I'd rather not be stuck in low elo constantly due to this. It's rough down here in silver elo.
