How Long do you get banned on your first offense?

Hai, recently my friend got reported for being Toxic in one game. He's been chat banned and unable to receive keys and boxes for almost a week. Does it really take 3-6 months for Riot to un-ban him?

If its just a chatban, he isnt really "ban" from the game. He can still play, just limited to like 5 chat per X-amount of minutes while playing in game. Also note that there is no clear indication of getting keys/chest after your punishments. Some people have gotten it from a couple of weeks of reforming, to people having to wait weeks, whereas some people still havent been able to receive it. The 3-6 months is the tier of punishment. It lowers after 3 months to show that you have reform.

I'm pretty sure he receives an email saying he's chat-banned for X amount of games. And it takes 2-3 months to be "relieved" of his most recent toxic behavior, in hopes to reform his negative tendencies.

aslong as he can play games either not saying anything or being nice. Its up to him on how fast he can reform and start earning the loot again.

just tell him to type a bunch of stuff he doesnt really mean or care about......like "glhf" "gj" "ggwp" "well played" etc. Apparently the algorithm "reform" machine really likes those type of things.
