When to prevent loss and when not too

so i had a dc in my game we were doing fine early then when late game comes they group and we lose but right before game ends dc comes back just so he doesn't get banned and for some reason i lost lp...... pls fix this i know u guys probably dont even care about this stuff but i want my lp back thx
