ARAM isn't fun anymore.

Player moderation sucks in this mode. I've play well over 1,000 games of ARAM and I can safely say it sucks. At lower levels the game is completely filled with people botting and at higher levels nobody cares and just trolls in the guise of "It's only ARAM". As predominantly an ARAM player I don't jump into ranked and screw up people's games and hide behind "It's only a game" so I would really just enjoy the same level of decency in return. If not could we make a competitive form of ARAM? I know it doesn't have to be like ranked or anything but allowing people to just get away with being completely worthless teammates because it's supposed to be a "fun mode" makes it not fun for the people that play it almost exclusively. Or maybe some more solid moderation of the b.s. that goes on would make it a bit better too.

Thanks for letting me blow off some steam.

You'll receive downvotes OP, but I agree with you fundamentally.

ARAM has several problems right now, but most notable are these two issues...

Riot needlessly changed the mechanics of the game mode in 7.8, now it comes down to the team that gets ahead, stays ahead. This just adds to the frustration and ultimately the toxicity of the mode.
People that troll and say "hey, it's ARAM, who cares?" And then when you mention it in post game the enemy team will even say "yeah, they called me a piece of shit and hoped I died in a plane crash, but who cares it's ARAM" It's as if the community has decided that since it's ARAM that the rules down really apply.

Unfortunately for the OP, you're swimming upstream on these Boards, most people will tell you that everything is fine and what you've observed is either false or an isolated incident.

I have to agree with the OP to some extent: I am an ARAM only player with 3K+ games behind me, and pretty much every evening I have to report at least one person for something. Even so, I have not received the note telling that someone has been punished as result of my reporting for at least six months time. I have heard (I haven't seen Rioter saying so though) that currently everyone whose report affected someone's punishment gets the note. Since I haven't seen one, my reports these past six months have done nothing. This makes me think that ARAM reports don't have any weight on the reporting system.

ARAM bots and "only aram" players are non-existent/near-non-existent in my games. I know they exist, but I haven't seen the former and the latter are very rare. As a result ARAM is still pretty fun for me most of the time.

I mean what exactly can they do? This is one of the many reasons why a game mode like this doesnt last long. We saw it with Twisted Treeline, Dominion, and now ARAM. This is a prime example why we dont have modes like URF as a permanent mode because sooner or later the mode becomes stale. But as i said before what can they do? The only thing that can combat this would be to basically make a "Rank" ARAM, and that wouldnt make sense because the whole point of ARAM is in its name, Random. Plus its not like having a new mode that suppose to be serious is going to stop people from queuing to that mode and actually play seriously. I mean look at how Rank is now. People still troll, and if anything its better to troll in a Rank match because you can actually have something to lose. Whereas Normals is just losing a match. In Rank you could get demoted, be in your promos, etc.

I mean... I got someone punished, who was being a dick in an aram. I reported him, and shortly after got the notification someone was punished, and he had been the only I had reported at that time as he was the only one who deserved it.

If you actually report, you'll find things do get dealt with. Gotta report though instead of saying, "it's only aram. Just a fun gamemode, no one ever gets punished because it's just meant for fun."

Face it, you can't have a fun game mode if people are trash talking you, purposely running under the enemy towers or have gone afk.
