this is the chatlog, the most flame i could see is yelling at my jungle to pull the dragon out, or the bot to engage, but i didn't really name call or flame them hard, and after the hecarim tried provoking me by flaming the adc and saying he was complimenting him i just stopped typing.

First of all, why do you feel the need to ask the enemy team to report someone? One report alone would suffice, you can report them yourself.

Second...If someone says something that's very clearly against the rules, enough so that you would be compelled to ask your opponents to report them for it...Why on God's green earth would you repeat it?

You repeated it three fucking times, which is three times too many.

I think that it's kind of pathetic that grown people are saying N word.

"Like oh my gosh, don't say the C word or the B word or the A word-" That's kind of why this community blows dick. Over sensitivity that demands justice for wrong doings on a video game.

Imagine playing Halo 3 and trying to report somebody for calling you a Jag, proceeding to T-bag your dead body after killing you with a Needler.

Your word regards sensitivity about segregation and putting people into categories but you just showed that you do that with disregard for race.

Let's face it though, you're using this as a means of gaining leverage on somebody. The "N Word" (LOL) is has made it's impact based on the sensitivity it's developed. People get insulted everyday, you don't need to march onto Riot HQ because somebody the entire world away from you insulted you with a buzz word.

Still though, Needler kill. T-bag.

To not understand why people would be upset at the N word is to not understand the word in any of it's historical context. It's obvious you're here just to debate riots ban policies, which i'm not here to do. I'm here because I believe that I was unjustly banned not because I believe their ban policies are poor. If you want to make your own post with a manifesto, go for it, but I'm not here to discuss this topic with you.

1 - You should assume as much. In no world could a punishment system be built around mass reports and be halfway viable. The report feature is there for you to use. If you rally for reports, that means that you don't trust that your report is worth anything, and if that's the case - what would other people's reports be worth?

From hereout, know that your report alone is enough. The IFS works like this: If the number of reports in a given match is greater than zero, then flag the game for review.

That's it. No "x amount of reports", no special conditions, just "if there is at least one report, review for punishable behavior."

2 - Come on. Even ignoring the report rallying (which, in worse cases, can become a reportable offense in and of itself), you straight up repeated hate speech. Didn't it occur to you that maybe repeating punishable speech would blow up in your face?

I don't understand how people can repeat the words or statements of toxic players without a second thought. Guess that's lesson No. 2 to take out of this - the rules apply to everyone and everything. You are not exempt from punishment for pointing out another player's misbehavior.

If someone says something that you feel is against the rules, do not repeat it.

Again, if you were trying to get rid of people who use hate speech, you would've had enough confidence in the IFS to report them post game alone.

I'm not by any means saying that you're a bad person - just that your approach to the situation was a little more than bad.

All said, if you think for even a second you might be able to appeal the ban, file a Support Ticket. I personally wouldn't hold my breath, because it should be a no-brainer not to use hate speech ever, and it should be even more of a no-brainer not to repeat toxic players for any reason.

If you rally for reports, that means that you don't trust that your report is worth anything

I don't know how the system works, I've never cared enough to research it. I see other people saying 'report x for doing x' so I assume. I'm sorry it makes me a bad person that deserves punishment in your eyes.

edit: you shouldn't assume people know how these things work when they are never explicitly stated in the game by riot. assuming people know how the backlog of systems work and further asking philosophical questions on whether something would work or not if x y and z are done isn't what most people do.

Lets have you not be so salty and passive aggressive.

Go submit a ticket to https://support.riotgames.com and have them review your punishment. If you've had a clean behavior, they might be able to revert the punishment.

That said, the punishment system works based on consistency x severity. If he said the hate speech once and you said it 3x, your chat is 3x more severe than his. If he's consistent with his toxicity, he will get punished.

Send in the ticket. Riot Support can see your whole behavioral history, we as a player alone can't see it to pass proper judgement.

My boyfriend recently made the same mistake and got stuck with a permaban(mind you, he understands why he got his original 2 week suspension - he was toxic. This is pretty ridiculous, however). Riot is pretty unlikely to unban you, I'm sorry you ended up making the same mistake. Unfortunately, in Riot's eyes it's basically unforgivable. They don't care about context, just if the word was said at all. You can try to make a ticket about it or connect with live chat, but it's very likely they'll just tell you something along the lines of "It's not okay that you said this word, no it does not matter that you were quoting someone, no we do not care about context, no you will not get your account back, I'm closing this ticket now."

Thats pretty silly. I would 100% accept the ban if I was actually toxic and actually saying the word to someone. I wouldn't though. I don't use that word towards other people, let alone the r b f or c words. hell I don't even use the word 'autistic' when describing other people because that word is demeaning. I've been banned before, way back in season 2 when I was a 14 year old edgelord. I have mostly reformed besides a few games where i've gotten a chat restriction I deserved. To get a 14 day over this is really aggravating.

edit: i just checked the persons profile who called me the word, he just played the game, so i got banned while the person who said the word hatefully didn't.

That's the wonderful punishment system that's oh so very refined that people either rally behind or hate. If it's any consolation, at least you didn't get perma'd like my boyfriend. Be very careful in the future: Once you get 2 week suspended, your account is on very thin ice. Some Rioter's will say the smallest thing is enough to be considered toxic and get you punished.
