Chat Restriction - Appeals and the like?

Curious if there's a contact I can reach out to about a chat restriction. May not even be to appeal as much as look for insight as to why it garnered a restriction to begin with.

But it won't do you much good. If you got the chatlogs it should be clear.

I got them. And that's exactly why I'm confused. I can be toxic and tilty at times. I'll be the first to admit that. But when the chat log I got restricted for is a total of 19 sentences long. And the worst thing I said all game was "zzz useless jg" directed towards someone who started the game by joining champ select and saying "All you ****ots better listen to me or I'm INT'ing" its kinda confusing.

The reason I figure I got a restriction is honestly because the Lee from my game was asking for reports and calling me toxic so I quoted one of his lines and repeated a homophobic slur he used. Pretty sure saying that with the reports got the restriction. In which case it makes even less sense as it was only said as a quote to try and defend myself from his accusations.

Even a couple of toxic lines can get you picked up if reported. Also some games won't be included especially if it was manually reviewed. I just don't respond to toxicity with more toxicity. It allways leads to punishment. Actually I've never went so far to be toxic. I just stop when i think i'm heading there.

For some people it's hard but that's how you don't get punished. Don't be toxic.

So what you're saying is... False reports directed towards you caused by a toxic player mad at you for calling him toxic in response to him using homophobic slurs should just be accepted without so much as asking for a more reasonable log used as an example for punishment.

I'm going to add I've already played through all the games I was restricted for. The 10 of them were annoying at points as it definitely made it harder to communicate points across when I traditionally play jg and have a habit of saying "gj" whenever someone or a lane gets a kill. However I'm not looking to reverse the punishment as its already been served. I'm more looking to know what I did that garnered the punishment to begin with as the only chat log given was undeserving of the initial punishment.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I'm a perfect human being that never says something I shouldn't. Even saying "zzz useless jg" was probably uncalled for even if it was directed at the person using homophobic slurs and being negative constantly. I just am looking for more clarification into the punishment that I was given and served.

So lets understand the system first. While SrbLud has given some information, I'll just add to it.

You are judged punished by your behavior (and the history of it) alone and nothing else but that.
The system works on consistency x severity
False reports do indeed get thrown out
Blaming others & passive aggressiveness is considered as mild toxicity
Homophobic & Racial slurs / hate speech is considered as extreme toxicity and can make people skip punishment tiers
you only get a punishment notification if the game you reported them in was the game that got them punished, and not while it is building towards their case

What this means, if you were constantly mildly negative for like .. 100 games, you will get punished. If you were extremely toxic, it may just take 3-5 games.

Maybe his account got hacked and the hacker is using his account to use racial slurs. If that was his first game, it certainly won't get him punished. Even if he did get punished the next game, you'll never get to know.

As SrbLud mentioned already, the system reviews your case alone and independant of what anyone says. If you occasionally (like .. 1 in 20 games? who knows) get mildly toxic, then the system won't punish you as you haven't showned to be "consistently toxic". While if you are mildly toxic more frequently (like .. 1in 3-5 games?), then the system will keep you on a long watch.

So go back and think to yourself, how often you use similar speech in your chat logs. While Riot does tolerate the once in a while toxicity, you probably were mildly toxic too frequently and thus got dinged by the system.

I used to post those in detail too but usually they create more questions so i gave up. I just answer all their questions while guiding them to the solution. Easier for everyone. Sometimes i put in a nice analogy.

OP seems like he's willing to learn, so I'm more willing to type more.

What i'm saying is that whoever is behinf that keyboard can't harm me in any way or influence me beyond being anoying. The only time someone can influence you in any way is if you give in easily or if it is a propper constructive conversation.

Online interactions become much easier when you follow that train.

As for the reasons behind your punishment, you gotta submit a ticket. That is the only way to try and get some closure on it.
