LeaverBuster after first game in 24 hrs due to dc?

I was just placed in lower priority queue by LeaverBuster for closing my client because I wasn't reconnecting. I tried to log back in the client and got error messages preventing me from logging in until I restarted my computer. I got back and finished the game after I reconnected overall I was dced for maybe 6 minutes. This was my first game in the last 24 hours and I got a 5 minute lower priority queue that restarts the timer if I leave the queue? What kind of punishment is this? How do they not have a system in place to detect disconnects?

Edit: I was also able to play youtube videos and browse reddit but twitch.tv wouldn't load and the LoL client would crash on log in. When I restarted my comp all problems were alleviated. Can anyone tell me what could have caused this?

Last time I checked, everyone gets a buffer of leaves before they actually get punished to account for real life emergencies, or other uncontrollable events like this. If you were punished it means you used up that buffer. And IIRC, 24 hours is not even close to how long it takes to refill that buffer.

Ive been away for awhile though, so I may be off on a few things.

Like Erdirk said, Life happens sometimes so you won't get punished after your first DC. It's about the frequency of leaving games. As far as a system to detect disconnects, it seems that it was your computer was the problem, that makes it your responsibility.

As far as what exactly caused your computer to crash, there are a number of things that I don't know. I was having trouble with Twitch on the 30th, but that seemed to be a problem with the servers. It could be that you haven't updated drivers in a while, (Nvidia comes out with a new driver every 2 weeks or so). Have you been having problems dcing recently?
