What do we do about flamers?
I keep noticing that 80% of all the games I play that there is a flamer among the team personally I think that flamer's or game disruptors need to be punished harder than normal

You have to realize two things.

This is a video game. Play to the best of your ability, and do what you can to win. If someone is being toxic, just mute them (without making a huge announcement a out it) and keep playing. It's just words on a screen in a video game, so just try to keep that in mind when you're getting mad, and realize it doesn't mean anything in the long run.

Because it's online, there is no way to "defend" yourself. No one is going to get intimidated by you yelling back, or rethink their bad behavior because you flipped out and called them an asshole. It's throwing more fuel into a fire and things will just escalate, make you more upset, and possibly result in you getting punished for contributing to a negative environment.
I keep seeing people on here saying, "I was just defending myself". Yeah, but how? Defense implies that you are protecting yourself from something, and that you have a means to neutralize whatever is threatening you. By just having a flame war, you're not defending yourself, but just feeding into more bad behavior.
what do you do?
mute them, play the game and report them afterwards.
Unless you are trying to ask something else instead.
Climb to gold look down on em. If they are above gold flaming tell em they pee in mountain dew bottles then mute.
