Riot is encouraging bad behavior

I've been playing League since it was a DOTA mod on Warcraft 3. I have recently started seeing more players getting into League which has increased the toxicity level of the community. Specifically, player aggression on both sides of teams seems at an all time high. The longer I play this game the more it punishes me for playing it, regardless of whether my behavior was against TOS. The current system of making players wait for matches frustrates them thereby making them angry when they finally do get in a match. Then we have players turning on each other in match instead of working together to accomplish a win, everybody turns into a hero and tries to solo win.

My suggestion to change this is to stop trying to control toxic behavior. Stop punishing players for playing the game and instead offer rewards for good behavior. Beating a dog because it pee'd on the floor doesn't teach that dog anything if you don't show it what behavior it needs to correct to not get beaten.

I don't believe your post for several reasons.

a DOTA mod on Warcraft 3

That's an incorrect description of league at any point.

I have recently started seeing more players getting into League

If you had been playing for as long as you claim, you would have noticed this 5 years ago. When I joined league of my main account, there were less than 150k players. Now there are tens of millions more.

The current system of making players wait for matches

You mean matchmaking? Like, how it has been since literally the beginning? Which you would have known if you had always been there? I challenge you to describe a system that requires no waiting whatsoever AND does not increase frustration in any other metric.

if you don't show it what behavior it needs to correct to not get beaten.

"Here are your chatlogs that led to your punishment" "You were punished for using scripts/buying accounts/getting boosted" I suppose if you are dumber than a dog, that would be insufficient expression of reason and behavior. But I would hope that most people are smarter than that.

instead offer rewards for good behavior.

Hextech crafting. End of year rewards for unpunished players.

No. Stop trying to blame your immaturity on something else.
