I don't think I deserved to skip a tier.

So in a recent flex queue game, I got a bit heated at my jungler for calling me a %%%got. So I said some stuff I shouldn't have said, but I really don't think this is deserving of a skip in a tier of punishment. I have had a 10 game chat restriction before, but that was about 6 months ago. Anyways around 30 seconds after the game I get a in client card saying my account was suspended for 14 days, skipping the 25 game chat restriction. Anyways here is the ONE chat log I recieved for it. Calling people certain terms is considered hate speech and will often skip straight to 14 day bans even if you have a clean slate. This isn't out of the ordinary. It is the result of letting politically correct culture go unchecked.

While it is totally inappropriate behavior, back in my day we would have just ignored it as words from someone acting like an idiot don't really matter.

That's exactly it right there. You can't even put that stuff in chat. Without that particular word, you likely would have gone to another chat restriction instead.

Did you report the Rammus? If he has done it and got reported in more than a tiny number of games, then he will also get punished for it.

He might have been punished and it just wasn't your report that triggered it. It could have given the notification to someone else. Riot has said they are working on a better feedback system for that so people don't feel like it's pointless, but for now, it is what it is.

I'd say it's more the result of people not wanting to read hate speech on the rift, but eh.

Which is fine, we all agree it is inappropriate behavior. The thing is, the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction. Now we leap to punish to bring people into line with our own world view. Oppression in the name of tolerance. This particular event is just another example of something that really doesn't warrant a punishment. Players have it within their own power to shut them up and ignore with the mute function.

It should never be the onus of the person being abused to silence their abuser. A mute having to be used in the first place represents a failure of sorts.

You kidding? It is reality that dictates people must learn to fend for themselves. Failure to do so results in the development of helpless victims, waiting for someone else to take care of them.

Next you'll be saying that men going out in skirts to protest violence against women is anything other than a laughing stock.

Are you? Assuming you're old enough to drink, start berating other people in a bar or other public space, and see how long it takes you to be removed by force.

Summoner's Rift isn't a public street, it is a limited area for competition and sportsmanship. People who can't adhere to the stupidly simple rules need to leave.

You could try submitting a support ticket. I think you saying %%%got over and over is what triggered it. Though they might keep the ban regardless of context.

So, even if they ARE toxic, don't call people that. That's not something that's particularly acceptable, although it isn't super egregious either.

This could well be the problem. It doesn't matter what he's saying -- don't repeat it. Especially if it's a derogatory word. That's 100% not okay.

And yes, he's probably punished (or soon will be) for that word usage as well. That still doesn't justify your use of it. Remember -- if you weren't the report that TRIGGERED his punishment, you won't be informed about it.
