Can't see the context of teammates telling me to kill myself, or lying to the enemy team saying I am being racist or wishing their family dies, so report me, ect. But yeah here goes the logs you can see. Some negativity yeah. But this is a perm ban. Extremely disheartening, I know it won't get reversed and no one cares and everyone will say good.

I highlighted a couple comments that would get flagged in the system. NO he is not overly negative at all. But there are a few things on why this will get him punished.

  • He said negative comments, whether or not they are super negative, doesn't matter. Riot has come out and said asking to report other players is reportable itself. 1 person or 9 people reporting has the same weight, asking to report just adds fuel to the fire.

  • Non-stop talking. Continuing to respond to other player's negative comments and continuing to add fuel to the fire worsens the game for the other players not involved in the conversation. Instead of letting it go and having it be a 1 person show, you are continually encouraging them to rage. Riot has said before that encouraging others to engage in unsportsmanlike conduct is reportable.

  • Because of the fact he is talking so much, players are more likely to report him because they view him as a big part of the problem. IE: it wasn't a one off comment in an otherwise ok game. No, you continually made the other players listen to pointless and somewhat negative banter (who knows what the other guys were saying in retaliation) and that gets them annoyed enough to hit that report button.

The above comments are a bit negative and adds fuel to the fire and encourages people to act or continue to react negatively. This is punishable.

Like I've said, I've been punished a lot in the past and I know what is going to get me reported and flagged. Try not to aggravate people and let things go. Remember, it doesn't matter what you say in chat as long as somebody doesn't report it (Riot won't ban you for something nobody in the game cares enough about to report). Annoying people will get them to spam that report button and even slightly negative comments will end up getting you banned. Riot HAS come out and said some of the things he said (report "so-so") is punishable and if he's getting reported in every game for having logs like this, it will be actioned on.

For this to be a perma ban, he must have already been warned with chat bans and a 2 week ban more recently so he should know this was not ok. They won't jump to perma unless he is super toxic and if you are not punished in a while (6 months or so as they consider you reformed) they will descalate you back down the punishment chain.

The problem is you are going to get flagged mighty fast if you have extensive chat in a game that is a bit negative. A few negative comments early that aren't overly harsh (stop being a noob and gank, or stop int feeding) and then letting it slide and just playing or apologizing later in the match won't mostly because people won't report someone for 1 or two negative comments (they will if you are sitting there spamming) because they just won't be bothered while apologizing will usually make non-trolls not report you (how many people actually apologize in league for their actions?) I don't for those who say one or negative off comments that isn't overly abusive. However, continuing to talk and aggrevate players will ensure they will report you and the system will pick up on it.

If people are being super abusive, after a comment or two explaining things, I simply revert to saying keep talking or just ignore. They burn themselves out and if they keep talking they will be getting flagged from the system. I've told people before that just non-stop talk a bit negative to stop or they will get banned and they don't (they laugh about it) and what do you know, 10 minutes after the game, I ALWAYS get the message that a player has been punished from my feedback. EVERY TIME. Most of the banned logs I see on the forums are just paragraphs of people chatting away, not just one or two negative comments. Keep the chat positive or neutral and if you can't keep it to a minimum.

Trust me, I used to get chat bans and got a 2 week ban a year ago. I used to type tons.

surely after 4 chat punishments, you'll know that their context doesn't matter, as you just need to look at your own logs and see where you can improve...

Much like I said in reply to someone else, my 2 week ban was based off 2 games in my report. One of which I said only a few lines because my teammate started the games saying "F@!$ you don' tell me how to play" and he started intentionally feeding before minions spawned, so I said that he was toxic and I was going to mute him. The other game in that 2 game report for a 2 week ban was my JG flaming me all game, and everyone else, then trolling and feeding (flashing randomly, ulting mid so I couldn't get the CS, running at enemy spamming laugh standing still, ect) And he had said in all chat he will continue to feed and guarantee a win for the enemy if they promise to report me at the end of the game, which they did.

I can say I had some negativity sure but to get perm banned really crushes me. I would gladly turn chat off for the remainder of my time playing League if I could play again, because though I had some negativity, I see people saying insane things daily that I report but don't seem to get punished.
