Honestly I agree with you. My main account which I spent a lot of dedication to got perma banned just the other day and I don't even use curse words in chat... I played really competitively wanting to win and rank up, but there were so many trolls and often I did mute people, but sometimes I just had to let out some complaints out to the people not taking the serious, competitive game mode seriously...
I have learned my lesson now. I am not going to be toxic anymore and only write fun/goofy things in chat and avoid anything that could be considered toxic and especially not play so much ranked. But seriously, yeah I am a reformed player, but the system punishes you too much especially when you are probably less at fault than the people reporting you... I would say most reports are out of hate and antagonism, it might not matter who "started" it, but that is the way they are. While few reports are actually sincere in not hating and wanting to antagonize a player, but knowing the player is truly trying to ruin the game instead of the person getting a bit frustrated having to deal with a troll in his or her match for the 5th time in a row, the former is what truly deserves a report not the latter. If the people in charge of bans and things like that actually went into recorded games granted they are provided and saw a person getting trolled for the 5th time in a row and just getting a little angry about it they should not punish the player for that. No one is perfect and eventually anyone will have to let loose some steam after being trolled in 5 ranked games back to back or even more.
Either way, I don't care if the system is changed at this point though. I know how I must act to work with the system and know for certain now that the system is not merciful so I have to be as careful as possible. And if being as careful as possible makes it so there is no supposedly good reason to report me to eventually lead to a ban then so be it.
