I recently played an Intermediate Summoner's Rift game where there were three bots on my team. In the next game (where there was a bot or two), an
told me that they had four bots in the previous game. Not a game goes by when there isn't at least one. They've become widespread, whereas I never used to see them. Heck, I even saw some on Treeline PvP in April, which would entirely determine which team would win the game.
I feel a similar need to play a carry champion, which tends to force me away from playing Support. Although ADC is currently my favorite role, Support is a close second. Some games I'll head to the bottom lane with a
only to find that the Spoils of War are useless as we have a trio mid and a jungler who's baffled and not sure whether to hold the vacant top or farm the camps. When I pick
, no amount of healing will ever help a 0/15 (K/D) midlane
against a 15/0
who's 3-4 items ahead. Another disappointment was when I wanted to play a particular champion but they were grabbed first by a bot. This bot mindlessly fed all game long while the player probably just watched some YouTube while getting free IP and XP.
"An enemy is legendary! ... An enemy is legendary!" Sound familiar?
I think I know a way that might help Riot catch bot-using players. Every pre-game lobby, I've noticed that players who use bots don't seem to show up as having "joined the lobby" in the chat window. Could this give Riot clues as to who might be using them?
