Don't understand how your REPORTING SYSTEM work....

I just finished a game, like 3-5mins ago. have to say it wasn't a pleasant game. i understand if people are having a bad game, however if you lose lane it doesn't mean that you have to intentionally feed, this frustrates everyone else in the game (including me). i raged a bit, however i apologized... and haven't spoken since. but my adc at the end of the game he tells other's to report me for being toxic which i apologized for. what's funny is that the people who were intentionally feeding would obviously listen and i get reported. BUT when i REPORT nothing happens.... my last game i had a YASUO that was CLEARLY (can't say this enough) purposely afk-ing (staying at fountain) and was talking saying he doesn't want to help. When i report this person nothing happens. Was that having a bad game? is he allowed to continue with that behavior and not get punished? i'm starting to doubt this reporting system cause every time i try to help the community get rid of people who purposely ruin games for others, it just doesn't work. now i'm at a lost cause i get reported for something i amended for and these people who purposely do this doesn't receive any type of punishment.

please clarify what must i do...

if i'm wrong please CLARIFY what i've done wrong. THANKS

TL;DR But it works. I got a notification saying a guy was 'taken care of' so to speak because of my report.

Well you cannot expect instant feedback. that would be impossible. There needs to be some time to see if the report fits the crime. Also note that some things are easier to find (quickly) than others. With reports like AFK, Intentionally feeding they would probably need to look at the game (if they even do such a thing when taking care of reports) and actually see the act. Whereas someone being toxic, saying inappropriate things in chat can be seen and dealt with fast!

It also has to deal with how often people are reported. If these are just one off things you arent going to get in trouble. But if you are getting reported and the reports are justified its going to catch up eventually. To be fair unless you actually get a notification youll never know (and shouldnt know) that the person you reported is getting punished.

First off, remove the name from your post as naming and shaming isn't allowed here on the forums.

Second off, in order to receive a punishment you must show consistent negativity and get valid reported for it across multiple games. You aren't punished for just one or two games unless your behavior is severe enough to warrant such a punishment there. Also, in the case of afking, LeaverBuster is programmed to take care of such players who do that, and it also detects players who try to avoid LB by doing meaningless tasks such as running around in base for example there. The same goes for intentional feeders, though the Intentional Feeder Detection system handles those cases rather than LeaverBuster. As for punishments themselves, there's 4 levels of punishments as followed:

  1. 10-game chat restriction.
  2. 25-game chat restriction.
  3. 14-day ban.
  4. Permanent ban.

Riot can and will escalate punishments to 14-day bans or even permanent bans should the situation call for it. Reporting does work but understand that punishments are not instantaneous. Also, it takes time for Riot to read through reports to make sure that the player in question is truly deserving of that punishment there. Just be patient and eventually the trolls will get punished for their behavior-trust me they do. If the trolls didn't get punished then you wouldn't see all of these posts of people complaining about their bans and chat restrictions here.
