Its my Birthday... and i did something Stupid * /r/leagueoflegends

TL;DR---> So today was my birthday (November 11, 1996. yes i was born on veterans day. Salute to all the vets) and i wanted to play a quick match. i went on and managed to get my very first Penta on my fav champ Xin, again on my birthday no less, this is were i do something stupid, after the match i type that im so happy i managed to get my first penta on my bday so someone on my team suggests a gift for gift... being the idiot that i am i did it... i mystery gifted him robot amumu and got nothing back... point is never be stupid enough to trust the someone in league and never expect anything back from someone unless you know them. its obvious shit but being the oblivious idiot i am i was blinded by my happiness point is... TL;DR---> be careful of guys on league like that and dont gift randoms... happy birthday to me... meh

Well, yes, you're kinda a doof for that. However, I believe if you go to the store page, there should be a tab for "Recent Purchases" and you should be able to refund it (assuming you haven't used all 3 yet. btw extra refunds per season rito pls do it). Alternatively, if you send in a ticket to Riot, you might be able to refund it.

Second, congratulations on your pentakill AND your learning experience :P

Third, I encourage you to remove the scammer's name from your post. Riot has a "No Naming and Shaming" policy, which basically says "Don't call people out on the forums for bad things". However, you can send in a ticket to support regarding the incident, although I cannot promise Riot will take action against the person in question.

Edit: Apparently gifts cannot be refunded. My error.

Thanks man but i checked for the refund thing and you cant refund gifts :( and thats kinda silly that they dont allow for naming and shaming i mean theres plenty of assholes on league and thats stupid you cant call them out for it. but again thank you man for the response, ill try and put in a ticket but im sure rito admins will just ignore me or brush me off. but thanks again man!

Part of the reason as to why they don't allow naming and shaming is because trolls could just start a hate war against someone simply for not giving them (the troll) their way. It would also be hard to determine if the namer and shamer is telling the truth or not.

For example, say I asked you for a Mystery Gift and you said no. I would then come to the boards and make up a story of how I didn't give you the laning position that you wanted, and how you constantly harassed me in-game over it because of it. Now obviously that's not true but the general public would have no way of knowing if that was true or not. That's why naming and shaming isn't allowed.

At any rate, it's sad that you got scammed like that on your birthday (Happy Birthday by the way), but at least now you know to be careful who you trust from now on. That's why I personally don't add random people that I don't know, as I personally like to try to get to know someone better rather than just adding them right away and not know a single thing about them right there.

Thanks for the response man and ya that makes sense. seems like a lot more effort than a troll would normally go through though but fair point. but ill see what putting a ticket in will do most likely nothing but hay it was my dumbass. just sucks it happened on my Bday on such a nice moment
