unhealthy community

Lately I've been experiencing a lot of ups and downs while playing League of Legends. First I achieve a lot of wins, play good and get good teamates, or even play bad and get good teamates. Then i enter some sort of deathrow... I lose several games and get these teamates with some seriously terrible personalities.

I've been having a lot of problems personally with keeping down my tone ingame, but lately I've held that back pretty decently. Untill I once again enter this bad streak of losing games, I get teamates that comment my every wrong move, and tells me about my "low intelligence". I know im not the first person to say this. But the way that the matchmaking has been built up, really destroys the fun in the game for me.

So i know it's impossible to just change the mathchmaking. So instead what I wanna do is start keeping down my tone, even when people start talking down to me, and instead report them for their negative behavior.

What I'd love for Riot to improve is to look into more of these reports, I do realise that they probably get millions of reports every day. But the maybe create a better system?

I really love the game, I spend a lot of time on it, and it sorta feels like a hobby to me and my friends. I'd love to keep playing it, but it seriously needs improvements. We're living in a world of improvements, tag a long. The community needs improvements. Thanks for taking your time to read this.

So are you saying they were toxic to you for no reason?

Yes we desperately need better moderation in the community cuz holy shit its bad. People think that telling their allies how bad they are helps but then they want a pass for their behavior because they feel they're better at the game than the people they trash talk.

according to riot's system, it's taboo to tell co-workers they suck or how bad their work is - even if it is terrible. you will notice on the board that they shift their goalposts regularly. for example, yesterday you can't insult people. okay fine go with healthy criticism then. then today they will tell you you type too much and that criticizing a teammate's actions even with a positive tone is toxic. "they can check a guide if they want advice" is a quote from a cheerleader for your reference

Yeah, I don't know why winstreaks and promos tend to put you with the most toxic people. I never saw a death threat anywhere outside of promos.

A community-wide reform for positivity requires the community itself to decide toxicity and negativity aren't good. What we have is a lot of folks complaining about how toxic things are but aren't putting their foot forward to be positive themselves.(I'm not saying that's you, I think making this post shows you care and want the game to be better attitude-wise)

Riot can only do so much- from what I understand, while everyone likes to think Tribunal was good and did well, it just didn't. It was too slow to dish out justice, often inaccurate or misrepresented, and couldn't cover the amount of negativity in the game. They came out with the IFS system which we have today and that will automatically take on problem players on a much wider scale.

I'm not going to pretend the IFS is perfect, or that you're wrong- it definitely needs improving! But I think the major/actual problem is that negative players either just straight up don't care about the game(or at least improving at it) and play it because they're bored and it's free, or other players really upset by the former and rage/flame in chat and make things worse.

It's not the easy answer- Riot knew that going in and that's why they tackle behavior in ways other games don't. They'd have to, I imagine, come up with a better detection method for negativity that behaves differently from the IFS, which probably requires a ton of technical knowledge and god knows what. Or they make a new tribunal with better rules/efficient methods and rewards for participants ALONGSIDE the IFS. Or maybe some 3rd answer I don't know. xD

Thanks for the post anywho!
