Question about Pings - Etiquette and Blocking

In a recent game, I was playing mid and our bot lane was being super toxic to each other. There was some toxic chat but mostly just nonstop pinging "?" to each other so I blocked just pings for both of them.

A little later in the game I was pushing mid into the tower pretty aggressively (tower was almost down and I wanted 1st tower ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ) and I didn't notice that the enemy adc had left their lane. They ganked me and I died. Yes I should have warded the bush before I pushed so hard - my bad I didn't notice the ward had died.

Bot lane proceeds to flame me that I ignored their pings. Apparently they both had pinged me but I had already blocked them.

This was one of the more extreme examples for me but I'm not sure what to do in similar scenarios.

If I block pings, I lose potentially valuable communication.

Before I've tried telling people I'm blocking their pings, but often that leads to them flaming me for blocking pings, so then I have to block chat too.

I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do.

Riot should make that if someone has muted you, you get personally notified in the chat. Therefore you won't waste time typing/pinging the player who muted you.

If they can't use pings correctly it's not unreasonable to expect they won't ever do so, and it's probably more effective to block them so you can focus on the game.

If they can't use chat correctly then the same thing applies their. It's not your fault they're a problem so don't worry about them trying to blame you. The most important thing is that you do what's necessary so that you can focus on the match, because if you're distracted and tilted you're going to miss these cues from them and what's on your own screen.

Block toxic pinging, stay super aware of your surroundings and constantly look at the minimap on your own to see where the enemy is and isn't.

It's just unforuntate, once you block someones pings pay extra attention to their lane to compensate for their lack of pings,
