I get why this is a thing

But why do I need to see this condescending message after not only did my computer crash, but I also came back to the game, and we won. I understand that the system is supposed to be a finger wage towards those that purposefully afk, but why does the system group up those that rejoin the game ASAP with those that rage quit?

Because Riot is a draconian company that only cares about money, not about players.

Lol you feel insulted by an automated message that gets sent to anyone who leaves often enough. Come on man. Don't take it so personal. Jesus christ the sensitivity. HOW DARE YOU TELL ME ABOUT LEAVERBUSTER! I DESERVE BETTER. Such entitlement.

the system is there to make you acknowledge it, regardless of what happened to cause you to leave Riot wants you to acknowledge and accept that you in fact did leave the game

It's actually intended to be a reminder that leaving a game or going afk damages the experiences of the other players regardless of why it happens or how little time you are gone from the match. The system has a fair bit of leeway built in, so seeing this message means you have accumulated more than just one game's worth of leave/afk.

If you're having difficulty remaining connected to the game, you should head over to Help & Support.
