I'm trying to log in, but got told I was banned and to check my E-mail. After inspecting my e-mail, I have been told to pay a sum of $10 US. The last time I put money into this game was several months ago so there should not be a ban on my account for money owed?! Is there another reason why I have been banned? please HELP!
If there was an issue with the payment for RP or a chargeback then your account is locked until the balance is repaid. Which is what it sounds like happened.

When you get banned you are not supposed to have the account back, no matter what. Riot would not ask for money to remove bans.
What probably happened is that someone from a country where 10 dollars is a lot of money got your email password and email address from a forum you signed up for cause you used the same PWs on that site, got into your email. Then he used all your RP to send gifts to his accounts, scripted on your account got you banned then left that email to get you to paypal them 10 bucks thinking its Riot.
You're going to have to improve your IT game in the future if you can get Riot to unban you.
I have a seperate Gmail address for my Blizzard and Riot games games, I never use this or type it anywhere on the web.
You should prob give them ur credit card info Social insurance number and identification too bro,
Clearly its a scam, not a real riot email.
Got hacked, they used your account to buy RP and charged it back.
Thus suspending your account due to fraudulent activities.
If you can prove that you were hacked, then they'll release it.
Go submit a ticket @ support.riotgames.com under account retrieval or something like that.

Put it simply someone used your account with a credit card, got RP, probably transfer it to another account and the charge back the money so riot suspended/ban your account to get their money back.
that someone could or could not be you, I really don't care but that is the gist of it.
If it wasn't you and you prove it wasn't you then you will get your account back after a few mails back and forth. If it was you then just pay the money and you shoudl be fine. Anyway for $10 is usually better to just pay the money that go though the legal loops to get your account back without paying, from my point of view the time spent to prove it wasn't will be worth more than $10 but is just my opinion...
Regardless, if you pay don't follow up any link from the email and instead do it through the official website just to avoid running into well made scams. After you get your account back remember to change your password and probably do the same with your email password and probably check your PC for spyware just to be on the safe side.
